I've heard they sold 33,000 tickets in less than an hour.
So basically there will be an additional 9,000 - which should last what, 10 minutes?

Posted by Zyklon_Jay on Feb-11-2011 00:06:

the ufc has already stated that the fist 40 000 is just to scope interest...the next batch will be added seating, and expect a further batch to be released the week of the event. As for numbers, i don't work for the UFC so i don't know....but a friend of mine is working on this event on the logistics side (not a ufc employee, but hired based on his performance in organizing the MTL events.) of this event, and when i know the further details i'll post them.

I'm excited to be going to this, free tickets rock

ps the majority of the tickets were actually sold before they were released to the general public via the ufc fight club pre sales.

A UFC 129 sellout at the Rogers Centre in Toronto is virtually assured after fans snapped up over 40,000 tickets in the first day of pre-sales to UFC Fight Club members.

UFC Director of Canadian operations Tom Wright told MMA Fighting that within 6-7 minutes of the box office opening, more seats had been added to meet the demand, and within an hour, available tickets were down to single seats.

The number of tickets sold has already shattered the the current paid North American MMA attendance record, which was just set at UFC 124 in Montreal, when 23,152 filled the Bell Centre.

I heard there are a lot of upset people because they signed up for the Fight Club Membership and didn't know it would cost over $80.00 just for membership. Those cheap $50.00 tickets are not so cheap now.

Well you can't sign up for membership and not know how much you're paying....

yes, but the fact that you have a greater chance to get tickets is worth the cost if you are a fight fan because what scalpers will charge you will go far beyond that.

Well I knew they'd do it and they did...

They filled the dome. 55000 tickets sold. $10 M worth of seats...

Dana said he was only gonna sell 32000 seats but I knew he was bullshitting...
