audio interface for a pc and and mac running on kvr switch
I have just switched to running a G5 mac and a pc off the same LCD monitor with a kvr switch(didn't get Intel mac for $$$ reasons).
So basically I switch between osx and xp running different plugins/daws.
Looking at low range audio interfaces, is there anything like the kvr swich or is this a late night silly question and any audio interface will do?
*edit, to explain better I don't wanna be switching any cables around on the audio interface when i flick between mac and pc.
cheers!
my motu 828mk3 has two firewire ports on the back (for daisy chainning) but actually i use just my mac book pro sometimes and othertimes my PC in the studio. i never unplug any cables, i just have an extra cable for my mbp sitting on the side for when i need it.

yeh not at same time..
that interface you got is $1000 Anthony...anything you can recommend with same (switching) ability for a lower price
Well first, you mean a KVM (keyboard video mouse) switch, not a KVR.
Secondly, any mac AND PC compatible firewire or USB interface will be fine - what you actually need is a USB or Firewire A/B switch.
Like this:

No interface is going to allow you to be simulataneuosly connected to both computers, and with firewire, to avoid FW bridge burnouts, make sure you switch it off on the unit before switching.
I can recommend the Echo Audiofire range (anything from the AF4 upwards has a power switch).
