Real Bass Samples

Anyone knows where I can get some ? Preferably free.
I've been recommended kontakt 4 and i know about trillian but I just can't afford them right now.

So, if anyone knows about a good soundfont or a free sample pack somewhere on the net or whatever I'd really appreciate the help.

thanks in advance

Shit, should have expected it

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Feb-11-2011 22:13:

not a bad sample. Can you provide 11 more to fill out the octave ?

waaiiit a second. That isn't a bass sample, that is a picture of Cryo's wife with another man. What a two timing bitch.

NTW , if you are looking to spend little money, go and buy bass exercise books with cds and sample that. You can find alot of them for 20$.

Re: Real Bass Samples

Hey boy, do you know what it takes to make those instruments?

http://www.native-instruments.com/#...-bass/overview/

FYI Kontakt player comes free. You just need to register. even better the library included a nice bass you can play with.

Sorry guys, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm getting sick of this "too pricey if not free" attitude among the edm scene.

I smell a blog post.

DO you still get allowance ? SChool in Montreal is practically free, rent is ridiculously cheap, how can you not afford something that costs a few hundred.

Posted by Lolo on Feb-12-2011 20:08:

I was 15 and I had to work 12 hours a day every Saturday and everyday during summer days to afford my instruments, they cost 2000+. Manual job, outdoor and wet, a nightmare during wintertime. Pre bass costs less than a hundred bucks... Is that really too expensive?

Posted by Raphie on Feb-12-2011 20:16:

At least he's honest about not being able/willing to afford them.
There are other "supahproduca's on here that ask retarted questions about all different products they don't even own.

But indeed boy, when 18, skip the weekend booze and buy yourself some plugs...

I had about 15 000 in instruments by the age of 16 living in the same city. FInding work was hard back then but montreal is really easy to find work now.

Yeah but your dad's loaded so that $15,000 was like money found down the back of his sofa

lol

I used to scrounge for looneys. I had a job as a paper boy in grade 4. Made 100 bucks a month. Parents never let me spend any of it. But honestly, my parents are rich but they never ever payed for things that were not necessary. Never got to go on the good field trips, never had a nintendo of any kind. I mean for Christmas, they spend about 40$. I was playing AAA hockey and all my equipment was always second hand, I also played for the Lakers in montreal, basically the highest league you can play as a kid and all my shoes and shinpads were always second hand. Got my first pair of jeans in grade 8. They are oldwschool cheap europeans.

They would spend money on things like braces, music lessons when I was younger , private school although I chose public school as I hated the idea of having to commute. I actually thought we were poor for the longest time. I just worked and never really went out. But by the age of 18, I had a yamaha maple custom drumset with K model cymbals and DW hardware, a fender jazz bass, a gibson lespaul. a v drum electronic drum kit and a variety of microphones. All paid by jobs and doing studio session stuff. My parents never encouraged music passed the age of 12. But as cheap as they are, they would never refuse to help if I needed money forexample when i was in school

Allright Ill answer everyone :

Lolo : You're right I can definitely afford Scarbee. I think that what I wrote was reffering to the too pricey attitude thing you wrote.
Else, that was plain silly. I can definitely buy scarbee, I'm going to save up and buy it. Btw the ones that comes with the factory library do sound real nice.

Mad4Brad : Nope I dont have allowance money , I just can't afford it because I have no money coming in at the moment. I'm looking for a job but I think I've been looking the wrong way. I'm gona start looking for places that hire instead of giving out CV's everywhere randomly lol.

Raphie: You're damn right, gotta start saving money. Thinking back now I think I could have got an SSL console just with the money I spent on booze and mcdonalds
Thanks for making me realise that !

what part of town are you from ?

Posted by Lolo on Feb-13-2011 06:33:

Montral is such nice town. I love the atmosphere. Been there a few times.
This is probably the only town I imagine myself living in on the continent at the moment. I have some friends over there too. Who knows, if my country implodes, what would keep me in Europe...

MFB, wow that is unique. Apparently, at least our parents taught us something really useful, so we don't need to rely on others to move on.

I can't be mad at people mate. If I was I would consider replying as a waste of time. It only makes me sad that you can't afford it right now. Really... No hard feelings at all. Just that you will have to be patient.

Ah I see. I didnt say but, Thank you. What you and others have told has made me realise all kinds of stuff ! I'm really liking this forum. I'm on the anjunabeats forum too and i seem to never learn anything there. Here I ask for free bass samples and I get out convinced that I'm gonna get the equipment I need and want legally and stop cutting corners using cheap freeware stuff (not saying that every freeware is bad btw, TAL noisemaker is actually better than some commercial synths). I dunno I have the impression that I'll get way more out of this forum than on the other one.
