[REVIEW] Ingrosso @ Webster Hall 2.12.11

first things first... i am never stepping foot in Webster Hall again
got there at 1130 and waited on the ticket line, i get to the front and the guy tells me they cant scan my area event ticket here so i gotta wait on another line, fine whatever. then i get to the front of that line, get inside and they tell me they can't scan my ticket and i have to go across the street to some random guy so he can give me another ticket then have to get back in line again. so i start giving them shit about it and telling them that im getting in and that's the end of it. after 10 minutes of arguing they just say fuck it and let me in anyway. im still calling area event and getting my money back cause they never scanned my tix haha (nils 1 - webster 0)

anyway after a half hour at coat check which was another cluster fuck im not gonna get into, walked in the packed main room and apparently tiesto played three tracks before seb came on... DAMN UUUUUUU COAT CHECK!!!

Seb played a fantastic set last nite, a little cheesy at times but its not like anything else is expected. no point in naming tracks cause we all know what a SHM tracklist looks like. he played from 1-4, not sure what he finished with cause i left a little before he finished. the soundsystem and visuals were pretty on point and there was room to dance on the left side which was a nice litte find.

so i go down to coatcheck and waited another half hour, wasn't getting anywhere, then i saw they were giving out coats on the side too with no line. So i give the guy my ticket and a couple bucks and he says to me "nah man these ain't ten dollar bills" WTF??? u really expect 30 fucking dollars to get my coat??? so i tell him to do his fucking job and get my fucking coat.... i just wasn't having it anymore, bunch of dickbags

so that's my review

FAIR WARNING FOR PPL GOING TO TIESTO TONIGHT!! IF YOU HAVE STUB HUB TICKETS THEY DID NOT ACCEPT THEM LAST NIGHT! GOOD LUCK

Damn man.

It's insane how many nightmares come from Area Event parties. They still owe people for that Steve Angello show cancelled and they tried honoring it but it was in freaking Atlantic City 3 hours away. Hopefully you get your money back.

Words can't describe how much I HATE Webster Hall! Sucks that this place has been getting all these events. Would have been better perhaps at Roseland especially with him playing the 3 hour set he did. Another thing that killed it was the 19+ age to get in. Can't stand the little kids pushing and shoving when you can't move anywhere. My girl smacked some punk in his face after spilling a whole drink on her after she told him she couldn't move. He insisted on pushing through. Pretty funny I must say.

Other then that, I got here around 10:30 and waited about 10 minutes on line.. Coat check was a breeze cause we used the hip-hop room one. Walked upstairs to an empty main room.. empty for about 5 minutes and I couldn't believe how fast it got packed. Jose Velez did a good job opening up and I stayed a little bit for the closing.. about 15 minutes.

Ingrosso was on point the whole night. The energy he brings and the way the crowd reacts is wild. Anyone know what happened when the music cut off during the set? Maybe he blew something out? But other then that, he came out strong and held it till the very last song. I was surprised he played till 4. Didn't expect that at all. I was guessing he was going to play until 3. Good times though. I had a tons of fun with great friends.

And was Tiesto really there? I had to go downstairs to give my brother his tickets so he could get in, and I'm guessing that's when I missed him. I went down about 15 mins before Ingrosso came on.


Overall, shitty venue, but it was a great night.



Hoping Deko can bring in Steve Angello before the summer. Would love to see him there again.

yeah that's what everybody was telling me, not sure what tracks tiesto played but he was there.

not sure what happened with the music cut out during "one" but could be that the system overloaded

maybe the system was rejecting the song

coat check was indeed a joke. last time i saw seb @ pacha a few months ago he didn't go on until 2:30 so when i got there around 12 i never expected to miss a chunk of his set. apparently he went on before 1 and now apparently tiesto played a few tracks as well.

19+ really makes a difference. it's one thing to have a dance floor packed, but its another when the little kids are rude, pushy and expect you to clear the way when they want to meet their other lollipop-sucking friends across the floor.

as far as ingrosso - he's my favorite out of the 3 for a reason. threw down the entire night. he got on a the mic on the few times to say random shit, guess he's been hanging out with steve angello too much. the set was great though and all my friends had a great time.

i was talking to the bouncers throughout the night and they are all DREADING tiesto tonight. i can't even imagine how much of a disaster that will be.

tiesto was at provocateur last night so people were making shit up i guess.

even when you do bottle service they make you stand in that lil caged area like your an animal for 5-10 min till the bottle service girl comes out and escorts you, then sometimes your table isent even ready

area events never run too smooth either from what iam told
i remember reading angello reviews for nye and people saying their was no managment at the door and no organization etc etc

i feel bad for anyone goin to see tiesto tonight, not only will the music blow but the line will be retarted

uugh I hate that! Our last experience: Stand outside for the table lady for a LONG time....... Then the table lady has you stand by the counter for another table person to escort you while you stand and listen to reggaeton and I run into one of my high school students (UGH! 18+hip hop rooms FML!)...... The you wait....and wait some more....then the table lady forgets glasses (I guess we are supposed to drink hobo-style? Where are the paperbags?).....then she forgets that you paid for two bottles and only brings one.....then she forgets the mixers (YUM! Plain vodka!).......then when you want your second bottle, she cant be found for ~45minues...

wow, sounds like a nightmare!

btw if u bitch enough to area event about how horrible the ticket situation was... u'll get refunded

That's crazy!

Webster Hall should do a 19+ fridays and 21+ saturday thing.

This instance reminds me of a short article on Bar-stool sports (A funny website) that spoke about the 10 things they hate about NYC Night Life. Its gets to #5 where it talks about clubbers and the fact that we continue to pay establishments who treat their patrons like garbage (ie: with long lines, terrible bouncers/entrance policies/discriminations, huge drink charges for bottles and single drinks, etc...) Typically I have been treated very well at places, but there are so many horror stories about WH.....what a trash-hole. I think I once said I wouldnt go back there again unless Ferry and Jesus did a tag-team set. Then I would consider it.
