I'm not sure how many of you are into LCD Soundsystem, but I'm sure a lot of you are at least familiar with them. They announced their last show evarr, scheduled for April 2nd [same date as ferry, I know] to be held at MSG. Maybe some of you even tried to buy tickets for it, like I did, and failed..like I did. The show sold out really quickly, during the pre-sale.

James Murphy released this rant the other day as a response. I know scalping isn't that big of a problem in the EDM world (or at least I haven't encountered it as often) in comparison to other sorts of shows, but the sentiments Murphy expresses are universal I think. For those of you that aren't too familiar with LCD, you may know him as the co-founder of DFA Records.

I thought it was a really great read. This certainly wasn't the first time I've been unable to get tickets because, presumably, scalpers swooped a ton of tickets up but I feel like it's been getting worse and worse lately. Coachella sold out in 5 days this year with a half-way decent lineup...but certainly not enough huge draws that would merit 3 day passes selling out that quickly when they barely did last year and previous years the 3 day passes pretty much never sold out. Even the one day passes wouldn't sell out for all days. This year it was just scalpers, obviously.

Something's gotta give......

Don't know them, but Ferry plays on APRIL not March 2nd!
