-- Electronic music as movement, not just a genre.

Electronic music as movement, not just a genre.

I think that electronic music can become more than just a genre, it can become a global movement.

After all, electronic music is more than just trance and house.

It's music that moves people.

It's hip hop

Trance

House

Pop
E
ven soundtracks in a film.

It's important to get it out there.

:-D

Posted by arskinetica on Feb-14-2011 10:34:

Can you tell me more about PLUR?

Posted by Rebel Brown on Feb-14-2011 10:41:

God damn hippies.

Posted by arskinetica on Feb-14-2011 10:43:

Reading about it on Wikipedia, but that pales in comparison to those who understand it more.

Posted by arskinetica on Feb-14-2011 10:46:

@Rebel Brown

I'm more like Sir Richard Branson.

A hippie Capitalist.

People need to be treated well and new things must be created to move the world forward.

I didn't realize electronic music was still divided by genre tunnel vision?!? For me, what you envision already happened many years ago?

Posted by Zak McKracken on Feb-14-2011 12:14:

welcome to the 80s lol

Posted by arskinetica on Feb-14-2011 12:42:

I suppose nowadays there is a lot of overlap amongst music.

@ken-lee What do you mean by "welcome to the 80s"

@Ralphie To an extent, genre tunnel vision does exist, but I understand what you mean. Everything influences everything else. Cross-pollination is the norm, not the exception.

Does EDM and electronic music in general still need evangelists, or is it in the consciousness of enough people already, and all that's required is creating new works and novel ways of getting it out there?

Posted by Zak McKracken on Feb-14-2011 12:45:

the method of using electronics in music has been most common since the 80s, maybe even the 70s. your "wave" is 40 years late lol. you have clearly lived in a cave. if you are talking about electronic dance music its been around since 89 or so. it was called House and its one of the biggest genres since 98 or so. lol PLUR.

A movement towards what?

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Feb-14-2011 17:55:

global tinnitus and grumpy people on mondays and tuesdays

go to 1 minute

this is the clubbers creed!
slave to the rave lol fuckin pill poppin retards. Ravers are a blight that must be destroyed. It isn't ok to be a raver unless you were sucked in pre 2000 by the allure of fur wearing minors when respect and rape were interchangeable.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Feb-14-2011 18:51:

the climax made it worth it though. lol i love takeoffs like that. hardly hear them anymore.

plur and all that:

that gurl is the only one ive ever seen making shuffle enjoyable to look at lol.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Feb-14-2011 19:00:

OP, one day soon you too will be jaded and cynical like the rest of us. Give it a couple years maybe.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Feb-14-2011 20:10:

they are way too rigid. Sorry about the music

the first asian guy is alright. I used to dance like that minus the arm flails for like 8 hours at a time in my youth. I can't really do it anymore as I just don't have that energy but I can still do all the slides and glides with the feet but i just kinda tone it down a little so I don't look like a retard. I tend to dance around the house from point a to b. My girlfriend hates it.Not as much as she hates it when some days I only talk in free style rap. I'm not a rapper or desire to be or even like it but I think its funny. Also when I'm cleaning, its disco time.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Feb-14-2011 20:23:

lol u must be my evil twinbrother.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Feb-14-2011 20:27:

doubt it . I hated ravers. I would sneak in alcohol, throw water bottles at really high kids in the face. Even once punched this asshole that kept trying to grab me while being high as fuck on the love drug. I never wore funfur, never wore any candy, never had fatpants and can confidently say I never succumbed to all that gay shit that ravers used to do like cuddle puddles, light shows and liquid dancing.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Feb-14-2011 20:31:

that was my point lol. these people are retards but that girl make it look nice after all. nothing better than a healthy energetic girl with bodycontrol and style. shes just in the wrong environment with bad influences around her. rofl
