I Lost An Ear, But I'll Never Stop Mixing: Feb. 2011 Mix [Progressive / Trance]

It's true, I've lost a ear for awhile, the doctors discovered my hearing bones in my right ear were shattered due to great Trance music, the loudness of clubs, and Artillery. Will be up to a year before they can do reconstructive surgery on my hearing bones. Until then I mix with one ear! Hope you enjoy the mix, not sure how it'll sound since I can only hear 50% of the music!

01. Richard Durand Feat Ellie Lawson - Wide Awake (Dean Newton Vocal Mix) [Magik Muzik]
02. Den Rize & Mark Andrez - Naiad (Audien Remix) [FSOE Recordings]
03. Abstract Vision & Elite Electronic - Echoes [Enhanced Progressive]
04. EDU Feat Aelyn - Taken Away (ReOrder Remix) [Perceptive Deep]
05. Solarstone Feat Bill McGruddy - Is There Anyone Out There? (Smashing Atoms Vocal Mix) [Solaris Recordings]
06. Jes - Awaken (Ronski Speed Remix) [Magik Muzik]
07. Orjan Nilsen - Go Fast! [Armind]
08. Edu & Cramp - Silver Sand (Daniel Kandi Remix) [Anjunabeats]
09. Ian Solano Feat Sarah Tyler - In My Dreams (Vocal Mix) [Destination Sunshine]
10. Bobina and Betsie Larkin - You Belong To Me (Vocal Mix) [Maelstrom Records]

Thanks glad you enjoyed it... many more sets to come! Cheers!!!

depends what kind. The hairs in your inner ear cannot. But still, you should be taking this issue a little more serious.

Posted by DJ Coleman on Feb-17-2011 19:02:

Yeah its scary stuff, not being able to hear out of a ear. Takes some time getting used too, thats for sure!

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Feb-17-2011 19:15:

I assume you are in the army ? That sort of damage is done by loud abrupt noises so it probably was the gun fire and then the loud music probably made it worse.

If I only had one ear, I would take fucking good care of it until I got the other one back.

I'm taking good care of it! Got some tubes put in it, and my hearing is great. Not as loud music only about 40-50% on the volume level.

Never do stand in front when that thing goes off, you don't wanna be in front of it... however only a foot or two away. So loud it breaks windows!

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Feb-17-2011 23:02:

so are you in the army ? How loud is like a howitzer 88 or whatever the fuck you guys are using. Is there any sort of protection that can stop that level ?

Also, the operation you had, how much did it cost and was it experimental ?

Posted by DJ Coleman on Feb-17-2011 23:08:

Cannot say. The howitzer is very loud, very big though. It was free, army covers to costs and no its not experimental.

Stay out of Helmand. You will get assraped there.

Posted by Zyklon_Jay on Feb-18-2011 07:44:

you need to listen to something better than trance to life through Afghanistan .

Posted by DJ Coleman on Feb-18-2011 07:48:

Trance is everything... and its all I need to get through anything! Maybe you don't love Trance like me, but its all I need.

Most americans are either sent to Helmand or to the eastern provinces Kunar, Paktia or Paktika. Anyway prepare for some intense months And don't shoot civilians!

isn't trance a a little sissy for the army ? It just doesn't really lend itself to shooting people. Now like slayer or some pantera. That is shit you can get down to when you are ordering airstrikes against the towelies.

I'd join this army. I wonder if music would help during a conflict. I mean if I had some bad ass music playing , I wouldn't be so scared.

not sure if they still use the term search and destroy but I would also add this to my kill playlist.

I actually applied to the army when I was 18. I didn't pass the psych exam and I was colour blind.

OK one more. Attach a huge PA system to your Abrahams and just fucking roll the city. I would be fucking shitting my pants if I heard an armour division with mean bad ass black infantry guys with itchy trigger fingers with bad ass metal playing at 120 dB on every armored vehicle. Operation you gonna get rolled. No building sweeps, just blow the huts up. It sounds mean but with the music, it just feels right.

That was pretty neat haha
