Party Review: PvD in NYC @ Terminal 5 f/k/a Black f/k/a Ikon f/k/a Exit2 f/k/a EXit f/k/a Carbon
MADNESS. though my review may be biased, because I am a PvD fan of his productions and sets. IMO, he delivered an energetic opening, quite the teaser, but followed through relentlessly. Classic PvD pulled through with the breakbeat midway through the set for the crowd-relaxer and then threw down hard throughout the remainder of the set. Classic choonage with today's bangers. Encored with Time of Our Lives (as expected) and closed with Home.
Great set, great time, great vibe (seeing old Exit heads, it was like a true reunion), not too in to the all-age, under 18 crowd, rolling massively hard 10 minutes in to Serge's set, but I'm sure we can all relate to that in some shape or form.
great set. hoping he'll consider more Roseland/Terminal 5 gigs in the future!
how long was his set? im guessing 3 hours?
11-2!
wow
... it was def worth the 1 year plus wait for him to come back. PVD was just jammmming out up there on the decks all night long!! He was really into it from the first track!!
Oh and there needs to be more nights at terminal 5 that place is perfect!!!!..Is there a reason why Terminal 5 doesnt have more nights geared towards our kind of music?!?!?!?

Absolutely fantastic from beginning to end..my first time at Terminal 5 and that place is nice! The lights were good, those huge screens were cool, sound system was bumpin'. The only thing I didnt like much about it was seeing all these young ass kids looking to enhance their experience if you get what I mean. Id love for more events to be done at Terminal 5 but not all ages.
and that Wombats track that he played was not dubstep, that was more of a breaks type of track.

Parts of his set were absolute madness - I mean what you expect madness...
Very happy he stayed the course with us before heading off to collect his paycheck at the other gig

But, you know for those who never made it to those parties, at least he appears to have rocked it out for them! Thats definitely the most important thing, although I would have been totally caught off guard with the lights flashing on at 2, wtf is this, Boston???

Tom told me tickets were like 70 bucks for this party. $70 for a three hout set
That ridiculous
Damn 70 dollars, im glad I got mine early...but if I had to pay that much for anyone Id pay that to see PVD but not for three hours though.
glad to hear he rocked out!
keep seeing provocateur (sp?) getting all these gigs - is the door a pain there? what's the deal with that place?

| Originally posted by zizack I don't think the 3 hour set was PVD's own idea. Terminal 5 just can't stay open past that time. I read a lot of people like, trash-talking the guy leading up to the event for the short set time. It just wasn't his call. He obviously initially thought he was supposed to play much later, as he was announcing a 5am closing on his Twitter a couple weeks ago. This event was just more of a concert type of deal, and that was the promoter's call. |

My point is that he went to play at some bottle service club to get paid $$$. I respect that hes out there trying to make a buck and who am I to judge, BUT hes been doing this for a long long time and he should no better then to spin at a bottle service club where most of his true fans can not even come out to enjoy the set. Trust me he doesnt need the money, hes made a ton off of us over the years.
anyone who spins at Provocateur is a sell out, and if you dont agree with me then your lying to yourself....
def awesome
i was suprised and didnt expect it to be that amazing of a night that turned out to be amazing. like wow~ last hour was just ridic

bottom line. good night , if ya didnt get tickets at 40 your stupid for payin more then that , your own fault . if you didnt think tracklist was good your some kind of new tranceaddict. he dropped it. seemed like everybody was feelin it regardless. it was an all age venue. personally dun care it was somewhat like a big EXIT reunion with friends who been clubbin since and back before that. good ol asian section in the back as always x.~ upstairs was most reminded myself of exit . all that was missing was that black guy who did strings with the prodigy snake eyes . LOL. elite
