NYC club question
So look slike I will be in NYC Saturday,
and will either end up going to see Ben Klock and DVS1 at Good units, or MANDY and Troy Pierce at District36.
Never been to any of them. Are they both equally nice clubs? Sound?
dude!! Klock!! ffs!
Of course,
but if that means bringing my friends into a crappy club with 75 people and crappy sound... I would go to District 36.
So I need a review of the clubs, not the DJs.
really dont think they'd book ben klock at a shitty club..its blk market membership doing it..and apparently their parties are off the hook...i wouldnt pass that up..
D36 has incredible sound...funktion-one sound system
Martin i want a detailed Klock review after
I don't see how this is even a question for you..
d36 doesn't have funktion one and their staff are arrogant pricks!!
They run that club like a police state. Myself and many other friends
have boycotted the venue, along with the majority of the big promoters
in NYC.
Go to Good Units. Venue and sound system are dope!
Anything put on by Blkmarket is legit, true story.
/end thread....
That was the answer I was waiting for...
Thanks !
Ben Klock it is. ;-)

Thanks Yankee!
... I still have some reserves about Ben Klock though, never was a big fan. Always find it a bit wacky and not always pleaseant to the ears. And quality of sound sometimes feels "off"...
But I will wait and see how it comes out live.

| Originally posted by She_Fitz First, Kelly I think you should come. Bobby, Justin, Jaime and I will be there. Second, while I did enjoy my time at D36 it was for New Year's and Ben Klock was there. Lol. I have only heard good things about Good Units and the sound is supposed to be good. Regardless of which party you choose I would suggest ear plugs. Both venues are known to be loud. I have seen Ben Klock 4 or 5 times in the last year and he has not disappointed. As an added bonus he is very nice on the eyes... ![]() I definitely prefer Blkmarket parties over any other in the city but that is my own personal opinon. I do think both are popular enough in the city that both parties will be lots of fun. Ben Klock filled the Bunker when he was here in November and D36 started to really fill back up when he was on the decks for New Year's. |
Did you come?
Klock rocked it. I would say last night was his best performance here in NYC out of his last 3.
Hope you got to experience it.
Yes I was there ;-)
The club as a nice underground, warehouse feel. The sound is pretty bad. It feels far away and muffled, no definition and no body impact. Like being under water. The lighting system is ok.
This is the second time I hear DVS1, and I never want to hear that guy again. Terrible opening set IMO. It was complete nonsense. Transitions were off, track selection didn't go well together, the music was not appropriate, and the crowd barely moved. After 2 hours I just couldn't wait until it was over.
When Ben Klock came on, you could tell right away a big shift in quality of mixing and track selection. It was way better. The set was good, not amazing or unusual, just good. I was expecting something a little more orginal, it was a pretty straight up 4x4 techno set, I don't recall hearing anything that blew my mind. But it was well done.
Most the dj sets nowadays are just 4x4 average mixing. I think we are too spoiled Martin
apparently his records didnt make it on the plane or something too ... not that its an excuse or anything lol just sayinnnnnnn hahahaah
