Roll call: Stephan Bodzin and Marc Romboy @ Circus March 11

A true techno master returns to Montreal.

back in Montreal, (5th appearance now) after destroying Circus last summer, he will play alongside Marc Romboy again at Circus Afterhours on March 11. Systematic world tour. for those who have never experienced a live show or set by Bodzin, I highly recommend this party. Although his tracks may no longer be actual, the sound that Bodzin created is unique and changed the face of Electronic music a few years ago. Bodzin vs Romboy chose some of the best in the industry to remix their tracks and the result is remarkable. Latest package of remixes came out yesterday on Beatport.

On March 11, I expect a very fresh german techno set along with some of the remixes and few originals

Here are a few remixes that have been recently released:

some of the originals (although you should not expect them to play that many of the old ones...they should play mostly new remixes)

Play this in Montreal afterhours, add some of the unique homegrown vibe and you have a sick party.

it was magical.

some of the best music I've heard in my life. I was told it was their 3rd live set ever together.

crowd was awesome, way more people than expected

What a night!

It had been a while since i've last visited Circus and i was so impressed by the whole evening i decided i'd write a bit about it, maybe it will make people who prefer other clubs (AKA Stereo) come take a look!

Very nice move of Circus to get rid of the Hip-Hop room, makes all the difference in the world! Very cool to not have to wear a bulletproof vest and not being afraid of getting gangbanged in a dark corner by elite members of streetgangs... The Security got a lot nicer and the vibe and crowd improved 1000%

Guys learned their lesson too and jerk off before going out: No male attack in the whole evening! (Compared to being assaulted every 5 minutes a few years ago !) Very respectfull crowd, older, much more music-educated than the stereo friday crowd ! The old hip-hop room is way better than the actual main room and i hope they will continue to put their main attractions there (we'll see with the renovations...)
Can't wait to go back with the new soundsystem; at some point in the night, my ears were Frankie-Wildin' me...

As for Bodzin and Romboy, well, they are definatly cracked in their heads somehow... I was confused in the first hour of their set on what they were trying to achieve and almost left to go to Stereo but i stayed and it paid off. You couldn't dance more than 30 seconds in a row; kick ass beats with extreme breaks and build-ups, craziness, crack-smoking music... I like to think the DJ's did it on purpose...

I'd say half off the crowd left and made space for the real party to begin, with almost only "quality partypeople" on the dancefloor (i don't wan't to judge anyone here, but i don't think i was the only one anoyed by the weird people humping pelvises and licking faces in front of the DJbooth...I guess they put beds in the chill area so you could put on your show there and leave space for the dancers on the floor)

They switched sides in the DJ booth and dropped one of the best sets i've heard in my life. Just fuckin' delicious! I hope it got recorded and will be available to download. They put on a show and created a vibe like no other DJ's i've seen, good positive energy erupted from that booth, you just could'nt resist dancing your ass off and smile! BRING THEM BACK !

So, i guess Circus got a new addict since i had more fun there than the last few visits at other party/clubs/after. Really, can't wait to go back!

Modern day techno masters!!

As Beetjunly mentioned, very nice warehouse vibe in the PLAY room!

Heavy and dark live show (on iPads) but their set was rolling, some solid solid tunes, awesome energy, true masters.
