Review: Super8 & Tab @ Cielo

pretty sure this was my first thursday trance party and it was fucking great. only 1 cheese the whole night which was the mashup of on a good day. great party.

did the tracklist with gmoney44 "gerard" and clownz0r "vlad"

Had an awesome time last night (this morning)...

So great to meet more of the NYTA's and match faces to names, sooner or later I will drop the "in training" status....haha

Highlight of night....hearing Helsinki (original) with Kelly and ripping up the dance floor.

Looking forward to seeing all of you again soon.

Thought Zack's set was killer too.....

Was it super packed? What was cielo like? And how long was there set? this doesnt look like 3 hours

It wasn't 'super packed' per say, but comfortably filled. Oddly enough, it seemed like the dance floor around the DJ booth cleared out more as the night went on. Crowd definitely seemed into it and both Super8 and Tab seemed to be loving it.

I left at 300AMish and they were still on, but it seems like I only missed the last couple of tracks because I heard 'NYC'. I want to guess around maybe around 2.5 hours? I think they came on before 100.

damn suck!! the crowd was the reason i decided not to go...that and work.


For Sander i wanted to kill myself but there wasnt even enough room to get momentum on the blade. So i figured it MUST be like that for these guys....fail.

most people who aren't there for the dj's playing leave by 2am anyway. they went on around 1am, but i heard the cielo staff talking about how the mixer was screwed up so they played a cd for about 15 minutes before actually going on.

i think they had the wrong timezone in their phones because they finished at like 3:15.

You know thats funny you say that. I noticed something was up when S8&T went into the booth because Zack had this look on his face like "WTF!?" and the guy doing lights was around the eqpt for a few minutes with the flashlight.

I dont understand why they stopped @ 315? Couldnt they have closed the night out? Gareth and JOC both closed it out last time they were there. Bad move by Made.I guess they couldnt afford to pay them for the extra 45 mins??

set time was 12:50 - 3:15. what i didn't like was the face they made when i requested stonevalley - alcatraz which is a song they have been playing a lot lately. i wrote it on my phone and gave it to big mike who was in the booth. they literally gave him a dirty look. like wtf? zack's set was a killer. prob the best i heard out of him.

^Zack went on and closed after that and i think he opened and closed with Suburban trains. which i thought it was a nice touch

haha yeah i think you're right. Their clock was messed up since they even went on at like 1230ish?

anyways Cielo had a great vibe, great sound and a diversity of a crowed. after 2 am the crowed cleared up from people that had stumbled there. i guess thats why it felt like it was getting empty. i ran into quite a lot of people that were there without the knowledge of it being a prog/trance night.

it was great meeting some new people as well. Cheers

I was well overdue for a night at Cielo, since the last time I was there was for when Gareth Emery played his first time there. Zack, as he always does, set up Super8 and Tab for the kill with one hell of an opening set. Super8 and Tab, once they finally got on and got situated, were incredible and delivered an awesome set as I had expected. Been a huge fan of theirs for years, and I'm glad to have finally seen them live.

Definitely worth the 2-hour trip from/to Philly and the exhaustion I'm dealing with right now. Great to see a lot of you guys there, as it always makes a night in NYC even more fun!

By the way, did Super8 and Tab open up with Maor Levi - Devotion, or did Zack play that before they got on?

I'm finally starting to recover from the night. It was my first thursday night party at Cielo and I had a great time.

Zack Roth's opening set was highlight of the night for me and I quite enjoyed Super8 & Tab's set. The club was not too packed and the vibe of crowd was pretty good throughout the night. But there were many guys at Cielo last night so the bathroom lines wasn't pretty. I did learn that somebody tried to used the out of order bathroom and almost got kicked out of the club (ladazenynights can confirm this ;-))

It was great to see so many TA's and you guys really made the night so much fun for me. Thanks to LAdazeNYnights for giving me a ride for the show and it was great time hanging out with you guys. I'm now looking forward to the next trance event; Ferry Corsten at Best Buy Theater..

PS. Zack, did you record your set? Or do you have a tracklist?

Where was I when everyone thought it was "emptying out?" Holy hell it was hot and crowded all night IMO....





Regardless....SICKKKK night. Huge turnout from friends and even people who dont come out as much anymore. It waslike a reunion, and those are always the best nights Massive tunes and massive sets by both Zack and Super 8 n Tab



Um HELSINSKI!!!!! 'nuff said....
