Trance Addicts from the 1990-1995 period

Are there any Trance addicts left around here from this period?

i dont think tranceaddict has been online that long. it started around 2001 i think? im not even sure internet was commercially available 1990. tranceaddict might have been a letter-group/mail-exchange-clan before though, i dont know. write a letter about a rave you attended, copy it and send it to the friends in your group. i dont know the eng. term but it was fucking ridicules.

....not sure how many ppl here would have even had much 'Trance' accessible to them back then

Posted by Redd on Feb-26-2011 16:21:

yes, Trance-MB

I believe 1994 was the year that I developed a passion for 'trance' music.

Posted by enydo on Feb-26-2011 17:15:

I believe 94 is also the year I got hooked.

I was 6 years old, and the ecstasy was so good back then...

Yes, and there are more Dutch guys of my age over here who already registered in 2001, but mostly can be found in the Dutch section.

For me also 1994 is a year to remember, first Trance Nation '94. Before that it was Trance among Techno and House.

Posted by LoveHate on Feb-26-2011 22:16:

i was born around that period.

Actually more then you think, at least in Holland, Germany and Belgium. Guess the U.K. too. But I don't know for other countries.

It's amazing the scene is still massive.

1994 was a massive year for Trance. Did you go to the Hyper Hall parties?

It's a shame that Trance NU site shut down, let's hope this one doesn't.

I was thinking of buying those CDJ-2000's just to get back into DJing as a hobby. My brothers Tech 12's are long gone now, but then I heard that Technics DISCONTINUED THE 12's - WHAT THE HELL? I guess it goes all digital from now on.

Posted by RebeL9 on Feb-27-2011 01:58:

I myself got into trance in 1994. A friend borrowed me a tape with tracks such as Sunbeam - Outside World, Jens - Loops & Tings and others.

Posted by ChemEnhanced on Feb-27-2011 02:10:

1996 was when I first got hooked on trance.

Posted by Lilith on Feb-27-2011 04:41:

Think most of what I listened to during the mid 90's was EBM, Industrial and various prog stuff Underworld was putting out. Actual 'trance', (whatever that means these days) I guess I started listening more to around the late 90s

i was almost not born at that time :; im pretty new to this game compared to yall.

Posted by Quazar on Feb-27-2011 08:10:

1997, when I first heard "Children" by Robert Miles, was the start for me. I was 12 or 13, depending on what time of year it was.

Posted by qussay on Feb-27-2011 10:23:

back then , to me trance meant anything coming from the dream dance cd series , and 2 unlimited !!

count me as on of those still trancin'

Posted by Salegon on Mar-01-2011 17:35:

I was more into the "ravy" side of trance back then, listing to commercial crap but really enjoyed it

RMB - Experience
DJ Hooligan - Rave Nation
Dune - Can't Stop Raving
Scooter - Endless Summer

Posted by stev on Mar-01-2011 18:35:

my first exposure to it was in like 1992 or 1993 i think. i went to two raves, they were both held at a roller skating ring, but it was by accident because i was there because of skateboarding. i thought the music was fucking horrible, i was all into depeche mode at the time.
i didnt really start liking edm until 1994, the year i graduated high school. i was into the "demo" scene with amiga, and liked the music in the demos and games, and that led me to sasha, digweed, oakenfold etc.
few years later i used to stay up late on fri or sat nights to watch mtv amp. mtv amp was actually an even better gateway. i would write down the artist names and search the "internet" and download livesets. i had a shell account for internet access, it was all BBS sites, IRC, and FTP sites back then ...

Posted by DJSoulstone on Mar-02-2011 08:13:

Rave start for me, too. I just say: Dune - Hardcore Vibes; Star Wash - Strong like a Lion; RMB - Redemption; Ravers Nature; etc.

After that: Love Parade 1996!
