ABOUT DASH BERLIN:
Dash Berlin is a true deejay at heart with a profound passion for the comprehensive culture of dance music.

2010 promises to be another momentous year for Dash Berlin. In January, his New Daylight 2010 World Tour kicked off in Australia and due to an overwhelming public demand, the Flying Dutchman is scheduled to jet to every corner of the world. From the hottest nightclubs to festivals with crowds numbering in the thousands, Dash connects with his audiences in a magical way that has spawned a worldwide following. This following is backed by a massive online presence through Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and other social networking platforms. His dedicated fans actively vote for him when it matters the most. This loyal support already resulted in an astonishing number 20 DJ List position early in the year. It also gained him honorable spots on the Trance.nu Future Stage at Trance Energy and the A.S.O.T. 450 Celebration, which are two of the largest and most essential Trance events in the world. Last years voting rewarded him with an esteemed nomination for Best Break Through Artist, this year Dash Berlin was nominated an astonishing three times at the International Dance Music Awards.

In February, Dash raised the bar with a pioneering 42-minute long Flashback YouTube video mix, which received more than a hundred thousand views within a few weeks after uploading. Other Dash Berlin TV videos are breaking records as well, with millions of views from all over the planet. With the creation and release of a free Dash Berlin iPhone app, the hard working deejay reaffirms his forward-thinking multimedia mindset.

In March 2010, after mixing various popular Armada compilations, Dash Berlin released his very first official and long-awaited mix album aptly named United Destination. This double-CD is a reflection of his recent gigs with a top selection of tracks straight from his record bag into two seamless deejay mixes.

Stay tuned for much more; hence Dash Berlin is the future

Yup.

According to Alain, from the RS FB page: He is on from 9-12, so DB should go on about then.

biggest waste of money. 40+ dollars each for a group of 8, to listen to dash berlin for only 2 hours. total rip off.

+1 and then Alain closing set was a bit off, I mean most people that attended the show went there for TRANCE, so you would think that when the headliner ends his set at 2am that the following DJ would feed off the energy and play a harder trance set, but to completely change the genre at 2am to electro, house, techno, but no trance?? Worst buzz kill..

What sucks the most is that Dash Berlin hanged out for over an hour taking pictures, why not just mix one more hour?? Is not like he was going anywhere..

Anyway, I like Dash Berlin, third time seeing him but 2 hours? Come on! Only Oakenfold can pull that shit..

yeah, this was my 1st time seeing him, so i was hoping for a spectacular show to remember and to keep one in the books. but nope. dont know if i even wanna try seeing him again, unless i know for sure hes spinning for at least 3 hours.

after dash stopped. i just chilled in the lounge room.

Have to admit that the energy in the room was insane. I am not sure if more credit should be given to the opening DJ or Dash Berlin himself.

Maybe he is not confident as a DJ to keep the crowd going after two hours. The crowd definitely loved the tracks he played. But as a neutral observer like me, I thought the flow and programming of the set sucked. For one thing, I was not crazy about the fluffy, vocal trance he played, although the crowd ate it up. The way he stopped the track and let the crowd sing the lyrics really annoyed me. Once or twice should have been OK, but he did that very frequently, and the way he stopped the track showed that he was not very skillful as a DJ, as to maintain the music flow. But then, the crowd loved his production, and didn't seem to mind at all.

He danced and partied with the crowd on stage, and took the time to hang with his fans after the set. That showed he liked his fans, which is a big plus.

That pretty much reinforces the view that you can't really make it by being a good DJ alone.

+1 on the energy of the room. as seen from previous clips of his sets at ruby skye, the energy of the room was always insane. i think his previous sets were longer than 2 hours, and he definitely kept the energy going. this type of crowd he brings loves his type of music (especially the vocal part) so they definitely didnt mind him stopping the music for the crowd to sing.

Same venue, but different promoters. He played on a Friday night last time he was in SF. Dunno if that played a role to be honest. Just pointing it out.

Posted by Alain on Mar-28-2011 23:58:

My apologies about my closing. I was under the impression he was going to close the night out so I joined the party on the dance floor and I was rendered incoherent with friends and family. When I was asked to get back on, I was so not capable of playing. Sorry won't let that scenario happen again. I'm gonna stick with my method of only having drinks during meals.

Had a lot of fun during my opening though, I much prefer to hold onto that memory!

No worries I've said the same thing about others who have been in that position. If anything I was just more embarrassed, because I love what I do and I missed that opportunity

but for the record I didn't actually close out I was replaced by another DJ, because I wasn't able to continue on.
