Anyone seen LTJ Bukem/RITM live lately?

Hes coming to austin next month along with Armand van Helden and Rabbit in the moon...

Anyone heard/attended a set by him or Rabbit in the Moon lately? Trying to see if its worth my time to catch some of the first possible quality music in the texas area in a long while...

Thanks.

Recently played here in Melbourne minus Conrad - Conrad had visa issues. Apparently tore the roof off, like always.

I haven't, but go anyways man. They both have such a long history and experience. RITM came to Milwaukee a few years ago and was awesome. David Christophere's live act shouldn't disappoint you, depth & darkness; woot woot

Bukem will bring the same sorta stuff that you'd expect with the good looking sound bringing tracks from guys like eveson, tidal, furney and greg packer.

His fabriclive mix in 2009 was solid. http://www.discogs.com/LTJ-Bukem-Fa...release/1764983

I saw Buken about a year ago with Conrad, and obviously they were very good. He definitely plays the current Good Looking sound these days, don't expect to hear the old Logical Progression sound.

But frankly, if you live in Texas and Bukem and RITM are both playing, do you really need to ask us if you should go? Get the fuck down there.

I saw LTJ & Conrad in October and enjoyed it. Fabric Live 46 is a fair representation of what LTJ is playing these days.

Whoa whoa whoa...wait a second, I haven't heard about this show.

When is it mate?

Does anyone have a date for the show?

Posted by idoru on Mar-13-2011 14:57:

RITM's live set has been pretty much the same exact thing for years. It's neat the first time, the music is great, etc., so go if you haven't seen them. If you have seen them, then don't expect anything new.

Spring Love in Austin April 23.

Yeah its massive intent which is typically lame, but it seems they didn't totally fuck up the lineup this time...

ive seen them 3 times and it was a bit different each time. also, "pretty much the same exact thing" doesnt make sense.

Yeah I was there for this one, great set. He also mentioned that he's bringing out a new label or platform to release music. He said that some of the unreleased tunes on his fabric mix will be available soon.

Would definitely check him out, he's a genuine dj.

I've seen them thrice and it was "pretty much the exact same thing" each time. Please tell me you're not really that fucking thick that you can't understand what that phrase means.

if its the exact same thing, then there is no "pretty much". its an oxymoron.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that what he meant by this was "the same set with very small or negligible differences". If you're gonna correct his vocabulary, try doing it in a way that doesn't make you come across as a pedantic smartass.

their live show consists of a bunch of acts or scenes. every time ive seen their show, i get treated to at least 1 act/scene i havent seen yet, so im not sure what "pretty much the exact same thing" means. was he unlucky in seeing the exact same acts/scenes each time with only a slight variation in lighting, costumes, or performers? or was he trying to describe a bigger difference such as a whole act/scene?

That isn't an oxymoron, you cretin. Do you think "Almost exactly" is an oxymoron as well? Or "not exactly", for that matter? It's called modality.

according to

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxymoron

this would be an inadvertent oxymoron, no?

No. Again, it's called modal shading. The speaker is aware of their qualification and uses it deliberately, so it isn't "inadvertent".

so "definite possibility" is an oxymoron, but "pretty much the exact same" is not?

i cant find a definition for modal shading.

Your participation in this thread explains a lot.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linguistic_modality

Don't bother trying to scrape together an argument from Wikipedia articles on subjects you've only just discovered, either. For what it's worth, I think "Definite possibility" is a rather poor example of an oxymoron, and is more redundant language than paradoxical or contradictory. No surprise that part of the article is conspiciously marked [Citation Needed].
