Faithless call it a day ...
After 15yrs and 6 albums the group have decided to call it a day ...
as stated on their website
Dayum... Good career they had..
I saw them at T in the Park last year and their set on the Friday night was pretty good.

One Step Too Far will always remind me of my holiday in majorca, one of the best holidays of my life, not the best of their work but one released at a major summer of my life.
I guess Maxi decided he wanted to start eating again.
I don't recall anything 'great' from them in 10 years, so whilst their liveact was always popular, they've paid their dues and are entitled to relax a bit.

That's shit. Might have to grab some tickets to their brixton gig.

I don't think the stones did it to sell tickets.
It's not over...

Yeah... they were supposed to split up in 2005 when the greatest hits came out. I remember seeing them on their "farewell tour". Since then they haven't done much of note, instead regressing alarmingly into the middle aged triteness that has always been lingering in the background of their work. SO not only will I believe it when I see it, but I think it's overdue.
Don't get me wrong, they're a fantastic live act and I like a lot of their tracks, but I absolutely don't buy into this idea that their sickly acoustic MOR efforts are somehow deep and profound, because they stack up against the big anthemic club hits. Rollo's semi-solo effort as Dusted was way better than any of the Faithless albums.
If you place a thing into the center of your life
That lacks the power to nourish
It will eventually poison everything that you are
And destroy you
A simple a thing as an idea
Or your perspective on yourself or the world
No one can be the source of your contempt,
It lies within, in the center.
Fuuuuuuuuuuck! Never got a chance to see them live, one of my favorite acts of all time. Insomnia was perhaps the first trance track I ever heard. And some of the most melancholy yet awesome times of my life had a soundtrack to the time of "sunday 8am". I had the best and longest fuckfest for 10 hours, while blasting Faithless and competing with my downstairs neighbor on who could make his girlfriend moan the longest. Age (younger) won that day (eg us).
I'm fucking sad and angry at myself for not catching then live. Hope they do a reunion in my lifetime, before they become desperately washed out.
"contained in the humm, between voice and drum" is my motto.

They had their hay day in 1995 but they clung on to power too long. After Mobarak stepped down it was only a matter of time.
sad day.

How will I ever get any sleep after this news?
