(WIP) Kysora - September Love rework

I'm finally getting around to reworking this track for release, since it's gotten some of the best reviews of any track I've made. Just thought I'd try and get some feedback before I finish it up.

Kysora - September Love (Rework) WIP by Kysora

Thanks

sounds okay to me.

I like the synths, seems to flow very smoothly. nice work. I dig the melody and progression.

This is a very cool floatey track mate, the best I heard from you.

You asked for some feedback to get it pointing good, and I'd say for sure it would really hugley benefit from, yer you guessed it, better percs. I'll be very specific;

The claps are much too basic, very old sounding which I know you sometimes say is what you want, but seriously make some uber cool Berlin claps and this WILL sound much better.

Same with the hatz - the sounds are like basic 909 type preset and the open hat in p[articular is too harsh and nasty.

Keep the track clean when you come to final mixdown, with cool warm in the chest bass and yer good to go.

Cheers - nudge me when it's done.

really enjoy it , I like the bass at 1.35. I personally would raise a bit the main synth melody.

Icky open hat and I can't stand those super-long-trance-claps, but I suppose that's personal.

Nice progression and synth lines though.

Cool, sounding good so far. Thanks for the input, I'll take a better look at the percussion.

Definately too much warmth in the synths and piano which makes the bass lose it's place.

Also, would be better to cut down a bit on the reverbs on some synths to give it more dynamics.

In terms of the chord changes, I find they change too slowly for the first bit up until 2 minutes.

I find the dynamics of the track to be very static. It lacks tension and release.

Otherwise, cool sounding track. Work on those things, and it will sound good.

Cheers

It's a pretty cool piece. There's something about it that grabs me, but I can't narrow it down to what exactly it is. As usual, I find the melodic content most appealing. This particular track doesn't sound as complex melodically compared to your previous works, but I'm liking this slightly stripped back approach.

There's not much more I can say until I hear more, if there is any. By the way, although I know next to nothing on the subject, I found the mixing cleaner than your previous efforts. Keep going strong

Heya dude,

You know my thoughts on this track. On this incarnation though, can't help but feel that the pads sound a bit on the thin side.

The melodic content is strong enough to let you get away with basic percs. You don't want to detract the attention away from it, but at the same time you also don't want the percs to seem as if they are placed there because that's what you should do.

This track was never going to be anything other than a trance track really so the claps do work as they are, if you waver too much you might as well go all the way and write something that is of a different genre.

I have dropped the previous versions of this on a number of occassions (Never could get it on video though) and its always got a really good response.

Cheers
Nem

@jl, the mixing is really in the rough stages here, I've tightened up the bass quite a bit since this version but I'll keep an eye out for muddiness. thanks for the advice

@owsey, always appreciate the feedback. The songwriting here is relatively simple, I'd like to add more but I'm trying not to overdo it for the sake of the mix. Glad to hear it's helping

@nemesis, I've already addressed the percussion and pads, thankfully. The percussion is a bit stripped back now, and I completely replaced and remixed the pads I used. They sound truer to the original now, I think. Awesome to hear that you're playing the original! Do get a video some time, I've never seen one of my tracks played to a crowd before and I'd love to see the kind of response they get.
