How do you make a gliding trance/techno synth?
I asked a similar question to this but didn't receive much help/clarity at all. I'm wondering how to make a gliding lower/higher octave synth. I tried doing this is in Vanguard, putting a bit of glide on the notes, overlapping them and such but I just can't get it to sound right. I see no tutorial anywhere. Can someone help me out. Examples below...

What is glide?? Seriously, that adjective can apply to any number of things.
Basically a smooth roll to the next note, as in the examples I posted thus far.
Vanguards bending is a bit shitty IMO, doesnt work all the time. I actually prefer Albino 3's one much more these days.
Anyways, glide is just portamento. Some synths you can set it up quite nicely.
For example: Albino's glide has 3 settings(on, hold, bend) as well as an adjustable knob for the time and even a curve setting. While vanguard just has note lengths.
Just set the sound to mono and adjust the settings till you start getting a bit of pitch bend, then you just tweak to taste. Note length and velocity can play a big part with this though.

ravers fantasy choon! xD the music i listened in my youth... don't regret.
Vanguard is a good vst for bass and arps achievieng this sounds with it will be difficult if you want something of this kind try Z3ta or Lennar Sylenth , i made something similar from scracth with Z3ta, alternatively the nexus expansions offer presets of the kind
@Pagan-za: I agree Vanguard is not nearly the best, but passable. Albino 3 certainly has a lot of tweaks and is really powerful, but I just can't get my my arms around it :S. I see hardly anything on it also, except from Albino himself. They need to come out with some really solid trance presets for it. That'd be awesome.
@Seandroid: Yeah portamento/glide. I can't get it the way it sounds in these tracks. It's driving me nuts. And I'm really sorry I'm just a sucker for the cheesy stuff XD. That synth lead is just so solid in my opinion, and I love the bass. So heavy.
@Rodri Santos: Right on! I do own z3ta so I'll try it with that I reckon. Too poor to buy Nexus and all those damn expansions :\
