Read This! Dr Octo Rex Experts?

Ok, so i use reason, kinda as a bolt on with cubase

been using it since 2.5

used dr rex heaps, sometimes many of them for back round meat in perc tracks, or to remangle and fill out here and there

so anyways they have replaced it with Dr Octo (Great)

ive read up on it, watched many videos etc (maybe im missing something)

i understand you can load 8 loops into it, chop and change between the 8 loops/ports in the main seq window etcetc, all cool but not handy

my initial thought when they announced this was - sweet 8 loops in one (one stop shop for on the fly drum track fillings)

but it cant play 8 loops all at once can it? ive tried i seem to get only one loop playing at anyone time, you cant throw down 8 loops from 1 unit and have them all going?

hope thats made sense, most of this is sheer laziness and the fact i dont have time.. also the fact ive just carried on as i used to having x amount of rex players with just 1 loop in

but wait wasnt that the whole reason they made Octo (clean up the seq page?)

if anyone knows more and cares to share please doo

nice one

I think it's more dedicated towards linear progression than it is meant to fill a roll as a stand-alone multi-track macro-environment.

i think so Eddie,

sadly...

in most dance music though, and i make a few diff genres, you tend to keep most loops throughout. seems a shame..

ahwell

It's seriously got me thinking about making a purchase of ReCycle to better take advantage of that linear capability and it's not as though you can't run 2 or more simultaneously.

indeed, i think at most i sometimes have 5 so its not really an issue other than screen real estate
