I didn't trust that this was real when I saw it on GS, and I still don't believe its real on here.

I'm pretty sure it's real. Roland did the same with the Junos (D & G) a few years ago (i.e., used a legacy name and made new cheap digital versions of them to make a few bucks). The Jup80 looks like nothing more than a fancier version of those with the Jupiter color scheme, buttons, etc. I guess Roland has figured out that, if it "looks analogue", people will buy it (and they're probably right, to an extent).

Another Roland synth added to my want column.

Some one told me Roland sold the Jupiter name, that's why they called the JP 8000 not the Jupiter 8000.

Thinking of selling my Roland Fantom7 anyway - but was planning to maybe get a second hand DS Polyevolver as I've hear people say it can make some pretty esoteric sounds with a special creamy quality, yum.

looks bizzare... weird... For me Jupiters are far far past, don't understand why the number 80... Better if was 8i and with a better scheme...

I don't understand why they'd call unrelated products by the same name. I also don't understand why they keep releasing digital synths with analogue names when they could just as easily and cheaply produce real analogue synths. Imagine how well a re release of the Juno would do ffs.

This is as much Jupiter as 21st century Juno series were successors to the original Juno synths made in the century past. Disgraceful rompler with "whoppty fucking dooo -zomg, I got this awesome aftertouch feature for expressiveness". Really Roland? Fucking money grubbing hacks.

All you see is these Hip Hop producers hanging around Guitar Center drooling on this shit and axin: "Yo, what's the diff between this and Motiff? i mean what the fuck. Granted technically compared to those keyboard players, he can play but that guy is so fucking dorky that I just can't let it go. Like what the fuck.

There is this thing with musicians in particular white rock musicians where they try to be too good in a technical manner and they cross over this line where they morph into the lamest possible thing one could ever be. It is strange that it does not seem to happen to black musicians. But man, Weckl, every fucking member of dream theatre, every member from Rush, the list is endless. White musicians that indulge in any sort of wanking or prog/fusion bullshit like clockwork become such fucking douches.
