Greetings. Been a while now.



I'm constantly trying to go in new directions with my mixes. This one won't be a dancefloor-related mix, nor will it have a whole lot of regular mixing, either. What originally started as a Spotify-playlist eventually became an attempt to create a journey out of many short tracks and interludes that would seem disjointed or lacking context otherwise. It goes quite abstract and noisy towards the latter half, while the first half is geared more towards hip hop. Take a plunge, and hopefully this mix will serve as something new for you, too. Oh, and despite the lengthy tracklist, don't worry. The mix still clocks in just below 90 mins.

As always with your work, the mixing is seamless;
Somehow the music went from being hip-hoppety to retro-sounding synths without me ever noticing it, and now to noise, which I'm not really a fan of.
So for me, it felt like foobar had started on the next track in the playlist. This noise wasn't bad though.

immense jan, just the type of eclectic yet concise mix and than only you and a few others could pull off, the hiphop bit and the glitchy bit was the best parts

i read your blog, so i gotta say if this way a radioshow i would tune in all the time -- i found a buncha tunes in here i would have never heard otherwise. the bit from Eskmo onwards was the best for me.

Yeah freaking fantastic mix, really dug the track around 57 mins in, have no idea what it is but is mad. Without doubt one of the most interesting mixes I've heard for a while. Will be listening to this lots.

Amazing. That last song, especially, really closed it out perfectly.

Cheers for listening all, seems like what I attempted worked well for most people so far. Oh, and if I don't add you on Facebook, it simply means that I don't know you well enough/interact with you enough on a regular basis in other ways to begin with to add you.

That's Test Pattern #1001. Ryoji Ikeda has released a bunch of albums with freaky frequency manipulations such as this on Raster-Noton, well worth checking out further if your speakers are up to snuff. Don't play it too loud though, as many of the tunes he makes have extremely high frequencies that can easily burn out the tweeters if you're not careful.

I really enjoyed this, especially the hip-hop bit at the beginning. Was expecting the flow to be more "chaotic" than it was, more jarring, but it all went together seamlessly. I was working whilst listening but did discover I had been listening to the noisey stuff for about 20 mins without even realising the hip hop had stopped heh.

Yeah, if there's anything I'm quite pleased with, it's that the mix comes across just as seamless and smoothly flowing to everyone else as it does for me, despite that there isn't much in the way of mixing at all.

Really great stuff in here, very fresh. Thanks a lot for sharing.
