Thumbs up Tiger Tiger Tiger Woods Y'all

He's playing like he's about to win another Green Jacket. Hopefully he's back to the Tiger Woods of old so golf can actually be interesting again.

C'MON RORY. EUROPE > USA. Well, so recent history says, and the world rankings

Its shaping up to be a fantastic finish.

Do you think its too early to take away McIlroy belt and shoelaces?

jeff ogilvy - beast mode initiated.

McIlroy is eating an enormous dick. Tiger won't be able to close.

adam scott should be able to hold on and win i guess.

Not so fast! This Schwartzel character seems to be playing pretty good golf.

jason day was in the hunt. what's amazing about his weekend was he had 1 amazing round (2), 2 subpar rounds (1 and 3), and an all right 4th round. everyone else was subpar or dropped liked flies.

so just a couple of days ago we were having a discussion with some friends, and i told that sports is a thing where i could not just stay emotionless and that every sport is interesting when you're watching it live and that it's always exciting live whatever it is, with the exception of golf. was i wrong about golf? it just seems soooo fucking boring, maybe it's because we dont have any culture of golf back here

It can definitely be very boring to watch. That's why, as I said before, the old Tiger Woods would be so valuable for the sport. It's really only interesting to watch when there's someone playing so well that it's almost as if they can put the ball wherever they want it at will. Golf without Tiger is like the Tour de France without Lance Armstrong.

Thank goodness Tiger didn't win. I have no issue with Tiger but fuck the media makes him out to be the only good golfer in the world. He is on the downhill side of his PGA Tour career. He may have one maybe two majors left in him if he's lucky. He's better off just banging porn stars, whores and crackheads.

Golf is so boring to watch...it's just as boring to play, even. It's the only game you can play drunk and not have a good time doing it. Fuck that.

He's 35 years old. Hardly the end of a golfer's career. Jack Nicklaus won his last major when he was 46, and won 6 majors after he turned 35. Tiger is actually one of the few golfers who actually has a pretty rigorous workout routine, so I would expect his body to hold up better than most as well. Regardless, one of Tiger's biggest strengths has always been his mental edge. With all that's gone on in his life over the past couple years, it's to be expected that he wouldn't bounce right back. He showed this weekend that he is still capable of being one of the best, if not the best golfer of all time.

The rest of the field was just as good back when Tiger was so consistently dominant as it is now. Jack Nicklaus has gone 3 years between majors multiple times, and even went 6 years in between them once. All the people crying that Tiger is done just because he hasn't completely dominated everything after the rollercoaster he's been on over the past couple years are misguided. He's gone 3 years without winning a major before. He's going to pass Nicklaus, it's more of a question of when. I wouldn't be surprised if he does it before he's 40.

Learning curve for Rory. I don't blame him for having a bad round, he was inundated by media, and even after all the normal stuff, the bbc then grabbed him for a long chat the night before etc. He'll be back though & Has a shitload of natural ability.

Schwartzel maybe isn't well known by the PGA side, he plays predominantly on the european tour but rather like other south africans, Els, Goosen, Player etc he has an uncanny ability to hang in there and then accelerate. If he's in the mix with 3 or 4 holes to go, never ever bet against him. His shots on the 1st and I think 3rd pretty much summed his day up and you knew something was gonna happen. Disappointed that Adam Scott didn't win in the end after Rory dropped out of contention because he's from the bit of Aus that my family are in and until the last couple of holes was dropping everything with the belly putter, which having tried it for just ten minutes in a golf town store is fucking ridiculous. I don't know how you can putt with it, so kudos to the guy.

Tiger's body is by far not holding up....the entire reason for the swing change is because of his knee. He can't power through the way he use to and his new swing is meant to take away some of the pressure on the knee.

The field is much better now then it ever was when tiger was in his hay day. Tiger isn't done but he is no longer on the upswing of his career. No body fears tiger anymore and with good reason not to.

Are you kidding? He hasn't won a major tournament in 3 years.

I was taking issue with the statement that he's 'one of the few' who has a rigorous training program. In 1999, yeah, but there are tons of young guys who train about as hard as he does now. The days of Craig Sadler and Mark Calcavecchia are over.
