Starbucks Coffe Appreciation (and the inevitable depreciation) Thread!

There are no Starbucks where I live so the best I can do is post pictures of my favourite SC beverage here in the CORe and vent my frustration. This is my favourite frap: Dark Mocha Chip Frappucino, in all its Tahiti brown glory...

Post your favourites, or just share your hate

I know but still, for some strange reason, I find myself craving this particular frappuccino all the time now that I'm in Brazil

Going to starbucks for good coffee, is like going to mcdonalds for a gourmet burger.

White chocolate mochas are amazing.

Starbucks is that typical American shithouse coffee shit and we don't want any of that shitty corporate Yank shit here, nor anywhere else in the world.
In fact, we did a case study in a marketing class last week on Starbucks and why it failed so miserably but succeeded at being so awfully shit in the local market.

Given the somewhat huge amount of (good) local cafes here serving coffee- not a coffee flavoured milkshake with a funny name the locals think sounds a 'bit queer'
It was never going to succeed
Bit like trying to sell spaghetti to the Italians by telling them "they're doing it wrong" by the equivalent of a cultural backwater. Krispy Kreme is getting shuffled out feet first for much the same reasons, no one goes to them when you can find a pastry shop in most metropolitan suburbs.

People in Seattle don't even go to starbucks...

I did a 700 km round trip to get this meal.

Ok, so i didnt do it just for the coffee and burger king, i drove a friend to the Vienna airport and since we made a day out of it i noticed this in the city...since none were available where i live at the time, i of course had to have it

I hate starbucks for no apparent reason

I like Starbucks, because I love iced coffee and have yet to find a place that does that better.

Yeah, they're a huge chain, but it's a nice place to sit, chat with friends, and have a coffee. They've managed to maintain a pretty decent vibe despite all the expansion.

Ewww.

It's probably quite different over there, but Australia has a very strong "small caf culture". And the small cafs are everywhere.

Starbucks is nasty, vibe-wise. And coffee-wise

LA has cafes here and there, but they are almost always more expensive than Starbucks, have long waits, and don't make good iced coffee.

There are some great local coffee shops here, but most of them aren't near me.

Do it because everyone else does. It's all the rage.

Caffeine is for the weak.

Starbucks if fantastic.... if you don't have access to decent coffee.

Pro Tip: any large scale roaster delivers lower quality and less freshness (the former due to large batch size making consistancy improbable and the later due to bags of beans sitting in warehouses for lengthy periods before shipping). Buy from small local roasters for better coffee.

no one is scared of a guy blasting trance out of a 1996 ford topaz with doors that don't match and a sony xplode.

Agreed for brewed coffee. For espresso-based drinks and iced or blended stuff, it's pretty good, though. Not to mention convenient.
