If you are going to be in the Valley, go to South Padre Island. If things were better in Mexico I'd tell you to go there and get some tacos, but I'm pretty sure, you value your life.

In San Antonio go to a resturaunt called Mi Tierra. Is a 24 hour Mexican place. Es good

Atlanta restaurants:

If you want a burger, hit up The Vortex on Peachtree Street.
If you want grease and a burger on the side, hit up The Varsity on North Avenue.
If you're into all you can eat Brazilian BBQ, hit up Fogo de Chao in Buckhead.

Damn straight. Texas has THE best BBQ. Only problem with texas BBQ is it gets racial but theres starting to be a big cross of influences.
Por Ejemplo; Theres White people BBQ which usually consists of Thick sauces and meats like brisket and include cooking with woods like mesquite or hickory etc...

Then theres Mexican/spanish BBQ where its fajitas or chicken fajitas or chorizo w/pico de gallo and all that bad ass stuff (best bbq IMO) and the occasional PUPUSA!!!

Theres also the subgenre of Tex mex which is the cross of 'white' and 'mexican' bbq IMO runner up

then theres... black people BBQ (not to b racist but you were fore warned) collard greens/mustard greens & ribs and other stuff which i tried and lost all faith in this style.

man i flew off the handle on bbq...

Spanish BBQ,Black BBQ,White BBQ. They are all the same when they enter my stomach

Mcallen is pretty nice right now. Have not seen palm trees since I went to FL. Pool weather!

If you are looking for BBQ and in San Antonio, I would suggest a route through Driftwood south of Austin for some Salt Lick or detour to Llano for some Coopers. They are Texas staples when it comes to BBQ, and pretty much what everything gets judged on statewide.....

now that's just a blasphemous statement. one of these days you will appreciate good bbq, and become a bbq snob.

I've never been to Coopers in Llano. This is definitely worth the detour? I do enjoy Salt Lick quite a bit

Coopers is awesome. The Llano one is the original, but since you are here in Dallas.....there is one in Fort Worth now.

Isn't Afrojack, Far East Movement, and Markus Schulz in South Padre Island this weekend. You should stay down there for that, lol
