Distant Lovers?
WestCoast forum is dead, so reposting.
Share your success or failure stories please.
Thinking about getting into a relationship with someone that is around 100 miles away from where I live. Moving for either of us isn't an option. It seems like a good idea, but I have heard so many negative experiences. Anyone have a positive one? lol
Theres a saying in Spanish that goes "Amor de lejos, amor de pendejos," which keeps on popping up in my head over and over making me doubtful. The saying pretty much translate to "long distance love is love for stupids" basically making fun of long distance relationships.
Discuss, please. *Braces for flaming as well*

Don't do it.
100 miles is not really far
Yes, I've had a positive experience. Had a 2.5 year long relationship with someone 20 thousand kilometres away from me. It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be: We had our ups and downs as all couples do, but we survived.

100 miles is nothing man. I dated a girl for 2 years, the second year of which we spent 3,000 miles away. That second year was total hell. Never again.

It always worked out great for me, go for it.
Send the letter.
It depends what you want out of a relationship. If you only want someone to be emotionally close with and you do not care about hanging out and doing activities together then go for it. Also, you have to be very confident in yourself. But, monogamous relationships in general are bullshit for most people because most people are not comfortable enough with themselves to have anything to contribute to a one on one relationship.
She's in Los Angeles, I am in San Diego.
I have no problem keeping my dick in my pants because we would see each other at least 1-2 times a week before we figure something out.
From what I see its usually the guy fucking shit up.
Thanks again for the responses! But it looks like 50/50 and I'm still confused lol. She has no idea, but I know it would make her so happy if we did stay exclusive...
1-2 times a week is pretty good man
keep things fresh

what sucks about long distance relationships is that you can't have those toilet convos because you probably aren't there yet.
the couple that shits together stays together.
Where's she at? I'll go check in on her for you. Unrelated but, is she a screamer?

I just pulled a quick pic from her fb...shes the one on the left obviously lol

She's a screamer when I'm not being lazy, which is here and there. For the most part she's a moaner, unless I feel the need to go full throttle...
Amor de lejos amor de PENDEJOS...
Amor de lejos felizes los 4....

100 miles is nothing. that's an hour and a half drive. sure you can't be there instantly if something bad happens or whatever, but you can easily plan a weekend around it.
but across the pond and/or countries apart...that's where the difficultiness starts.
