Monkey Dancer 2 Rank Tunnel Trance Force (TTF) CD's, from Best to Worst

What is your ranking, best to worst, of the TTF CD's that you've heard? I'm interested to know because I'd like to make a summary, at the very end, of which volume(s) we all consider the best, and which one(s) the worst.

Admittedly, I myself haven't heard that many, but here's my ranking, from what I remember:

12
16
18
15

Remember, start with the best and make your way down. And don't forget the Tunnel-Goes-Ibiza CD, it doesn't have a number but was still released as part of TTF. Thanks!

TTF opinion

I think TTF was very good at the begining, but as it gets higher number it goes more commercial...I love TTF 5,6 and 7
Tunnel goes to Ibiza 2002 is not a great one as well sad but that's my opinion

Thanks for your reply, anyone else?

What do you consider a great TTF CD, and why?
I just bought Vol. 21 (for $20 in NYC), it's pretty good but a little too hard for me, so hard in fact that occasionally it's not danceable. Now, that's not to say that it's not good.

But weren't earlier TTFs a little trancier and more melodic?

Number 10 is the best with songs like Outside World...

A classic!

Especially with the 3D inlay CD

TTF7 is my favorite, the others i don't really like.

TT7 has tracks like.. Hypertrophy - "Eternal Flames"... also "Universal Nation".

04. volume 9
05. volume 4
06. volume 6
07. volume 5
08. volume 12
09. volume 8

and the rest dont deserve to be mentioned

last year at this time I met with a friend who used to listen TTF,he said that he didn't like it anymore 'cause TTF had gone to hard

yea i know, but that is what made it like a special cd collection when i used to listen to them, back in like late 1998 or 1999, now its just anohter compilation, which i think has turned into shit

Agreed! But I dont think its shit, its still some good hardtrance on it, guess u dont like hard-trance?!

Posted by capricorn15 on Aug-13-2002 18:17:

i do like hard trance, but i dont know, i guess its not the the cd sucks, but nothing really sets it apart the way it used to, thats why i dont like them, besides, they are like 30 dollars each at virgin records, so to me, its not worth the money since it is just "another" compilation

Yes you're right and the same as Dj Networx

The recent TTF's are a combination of hard house and hard trance. The original's were just trance and some hard trance...making them a lot better.

I like 15 and 19. And also 21 is not bad. But my favorite are 15 and 19.

I absolutely loved all up to 15-16 than they started turning a bit too mainstream, but still ok im my book. I've never heard the first 3 TTFs, so I can't judge them.

Exactly.
I remember earlier TTFs had some real melodic gems, like "Elementi," "Communication," etc.. Now it's just kick-and-snare, and it's so rough it hurts my ears. Personally I've never heard TTFs earlier than 10 (and it's too late now, since AG is dead and no stores have them in stock any longer). I do like the energy but Vol. 21 is so hard it really gives me a headache, the only "soft" track there is "4 o'clock in the morning."

Were Vol. 19 and 20 good, as well?
And have you noticed that the CD's are now "auf PC/Mac nicht abspielbar"?

One more thing: I must say that DJ Dean sucks! Almost anyone can mix better, I think...

2) if you like mellow trance, dont buy tunnel cd's.they are hard trance. buy some other cd. tunneld oesnt make mellow trance cd's cuz you like them sorry =)

3) dj dean does not suck. plain and simple. you might not like his style of mixing but...he does NOT suck..

adios

Yes there were hardcore tracks on TTFs,but were more on DJ Networx
Agree!Neither I think that DJ Dean's mixin' style is poor or he sux...he mixes a bit strange but acceptable

Yesterday I got Vol. 19.
Is it just me, or does it really suck?

Posted by jdjd on Aug-22-2002 03:09:

you gotta give them credit for putting out the hardtrance for so long while not many others have the balls to do it once.
there's a much greater market for "regular" trance, they could have sold out a long time ago and make it another trance comp.
They're not intended to be pure trance cd's, despite the name tunnel trance. They have always put lots of several techno songs on them.

For someone like me looking only for pure trance, they're ok, but not worth the money since there's alot of other stuff mixed in. I have found that each comp. has maybe 5 or 6 wicked trance tracks worthy to be in my collection. they're all pretty much equal to me.

maybe that's da worst one
but listen to da newest>Tunnel goes to Ibiza 2002,this is also a poor one...real example what I was talkin' about
CD one is soooooooooo commercial,u know those rave reworx nowdays...I hate them...
and CD two is always the underground&'good melody',but now it hasn't got any awesome track
