Wouldn't it be possible to hook your PC up to channel 3 on your mixer and if you have the Winamp plug-in like decrease the tempo to beat match.
Just using the Output jack from your soundcard...
It would be possible wouldn't it?

Using only a winamp & tempo plugin would make manual beatmatching very difficult.

thats because you need a players w/pitchbend controls (a jogwheel in this case). when you rotate a jogwheel around, you increase/decrease pitch speed of the track temporarily until the beats are aligned.

(sort of like on vinyl, you would push/slowdown the platter w/your fingers as it plays - so that you can align the beats while adjusting the pitch slider).

I really reccomend getting virtual turntables. (www.carrotinnovations.com).. no-BS interface, no gimmicky features, and has a good jogwheel. Yes it's old, but dont let that fool you!! If you got an external mixer, i recomend getting a second soundcard for both outputs.

i hope this was helpful!

Cool

there's a plugin for winamp called "Pitchfork" . It's pretty cool. The only downside to it is that the response time can be a bit slow. Other than that, it has a lot of nice features. And yes, you can output to a mixer from your soundcard as well as input to your pc from your mixer.
You might really want to check out Pitchfork. I think they still have it on line at Nullsoft. If they don't, let me know and I will try to get it to you.

Be Cool! Or you could try these...

Check out native Instruments TRAKTOR. Was released in Februaru and from a solid VTT(Virtual Turntables) user Im now converted It has a couple of advantages over VTT in that you can scratch on the fly as well as auto BPM discovery etc...

http://www.native-instruments.com/

Another is PC DJ red. A very responsive and stable effort from visionsonic, It never hooked me though, but there are some very keen people that swear by it so maybe you'll like it to.

Dunno the web address though.

Hope u manage to find your software
