Dj Eso @ Phantom 08-10-02 Review!!! PICS ARE UP!

Once again, the E*master does not know the meaning of sleep!!!

I JUST got back from Phantom lounge. OMG!!!!!!! DJ ESO LAYED THE BEST SET EVER!!!!! It was the SHIT! My faves of the nite were Solar coaster and to finish it off Eso Spun a tru classic angel. I am passing out as I write this so don't mind the bad spelling :P. It was great meeting you guys DJ-Hordash, TranceArmada, Firestarter, DJ EL Kay dee and of course Mecha who I was partying with since 8:30 PM. I got 43 pics of that whole night (inc;. me Spinning MANAUALLY ie no mp3 mixing ) I will post those ASAP. I am too tired right now to edit them sorry guys.....

Unfortunately they cut Eso off even though he had 20 mins left on his set. I do not know why. Despite the fact ppl were Chanting "ESO" and giving Eso PERSONNALY Hi-fives the whole night. he Roicked the palce and got more props than ALL the other DJS did that nite. Never the less they cut him off. But the TAs made a point that night to support ESO and trance tonight and we should all be proud of that. I msot deifnately hope this will not be the last night ESo Spins there because his talent is obvious; the talent to entertain a good crowd of ppl. I had a blast and it was great to meet the TAs tonight. Will post the pics soon guys . I will post more tommorow as I am falling on teh keyboard as we speak. Nex tup for me to take pics @ is @ Systems for Fleming. Good morrow all... uufffff!!!!.................

Yea....ESO did a good job.

I must admit that was the most WACKED dj routine I've ever heard from any club I've ever been in.
(I'm not talking about ESO here).
The club jumped from Top 40 to Euro to some hip-hop, house, back to Euro, even some ethic Polish stuff and yes...slow dance stuff...
And they weren't to subtle about it either. When they changed up their DJ's (get this there was SIX of them during the night) it was like WAM! New set, new DJ, new sound.
The mixing was pretty atrocious from most of the DJs, and I'm NOT a DJ...

It's too bad ESO had to go on LAST *cough* but at least I got to hear some Trance...
It was funny, one of the DJ's started stealing stuff from ESO's playlist earlier; he was PISSED. haha
Ah well...

Good job ESO. Props to you.

And great seeing Waxen, Styles (<-- you 2 stay later next time k? ) , DJ El Kay Dee, Trancearmada, Mavspire, Mecca, EMaster, DJ-Hordash and whomever else I missed...

Oh yea....DJ El Kay Dee....learn to shoot!!!

Initially when i heard the intro for Aria - Dido (armin van buuren's universal religion mix) i thought it was shitty for a start of a set but then it was actually pretty good...if i was a real real dj, i wouldve never even thought of spinning that at a club.... and its such a coincidence that the last tune i heard before i left my house was the same as the last tune of the set

Hey Mecha...tell ur friend(or g/f..whatever) Ola (i think)that she should cheer up a bit....lol....j/k


And u guys remember i did say that the dj before him will play a non english tune which sounds like hes sayin "dj Eso"...???ya u heard it too

as for the other djs, i dont know what the fuck was up last night..usually theres some nice retro house playin thru the night and a bit of dance and stuff..last night was fucked with all that monkey music...never heard any monkey music there before :P


all in all last night was great

but the first time eso spun at phantom was the best...(best at phantom that is)

What a night!!!!!!!!
First of all start my night with emaster coming over to my place spinning some records, drinking some becks (deutsch beer 10/10), taking pics for my cd promo.....just awesome camera......

After that we hit the Phantom, we picked up two other chicks and I know that Olay should cheer up a little bit but she had some family issues, you know.......

But other girl Alona was just awesome.....dancing her ass off to some trance.....

Overall djs were shit, except ESO, man u just blew the shit of that place, too bad they have to cut you off in the middle of PVD - for an angel. Truck that he spun were: Solar stone - solarcoaster (thanks for that), pvd - for an angel, rapid eye - circa(forever mix), Aria - Dido (armin van buuren's universal religion mix), solid seccission - janero (avb mix). nice nice sweet set.

Thanks for all the TA who showed up new, old, evceryone, you guys Rock, thanks again for supporting ESO and Trance nights at Phantom...

P.S. ESO, I hope your girlfriend is fillinf fine, and everything is OK......

yeah well I am not really surprised about the DJ routine, since it was mostly filled with Polish clubbers (if you can call them that)! But yeah the mixing for the most part you can't even call mixing! LOL!

unfortunately that's not true a group of bastards (friends of that DJ that spun Polish POP!) were Booing ESO! What a bunch of clowns! But what ever, I think Eso still liked that we suported him the way we did! Those bastards should have given him at least an hour to spin like he was told from the begining of the night, but still we at least had 25 min of Eso on the decks!


All in all a good night!!! I got home at 4am and woke up at 6:45 had to be at work by 7am! Just got back, but it was worth it, and I don't regret going at all!

EL KAY DEE - Thanx for all the drinks, I owe you next time when I actually have money!
Firestarter - Thanx for the ride and the drinks! I owe you once again big time!
Mecha - I'll see you on Friday most likely! Will try to bring a few cold ones!

ESO - Very good set, should have spun longer but I understand all the problems people give you at the Phantom. Hope to see you spin soon again. BTW - hope your GF is alright.
Anyone else I missed I am sorry but I only had 2 1/2 hours of sleep so I am kind of out of it all day!


P.S. And for my final thought I miss Tanya with all her shots! Hope to see the pic soon!

good thing I got Red eye reductions software, casue stupid me was using THE WROING FLASH MODE ALL NIGHT. Almoist all pcis have redd eye especially the last TA group shot. Oh well. Will have em up by tonight tho . I am gonna buy some records next week despite the fact that I DO NOT OWN A MOXER AND TTS YET. But I will just pracitse @ mecha's house for now. Mecha shall be rewarded with nice Deutschen Bier :P

better save your money for TT's and buy vinyl later, or better yet save your money. Than sometimes in mid Sept we (mecha, you and me) can go vinyl shopping in TO!

ok, I have a few comments of my own about last night.

I dont think any of you know who I am, and I prefer to leave it that way, aside from Eso.

I'm the guy who played most of the night. Little bit of house, euro and R&B. 10:30 - 1:00am.

Now here is the problem, one of you posted that there was alot of "monkey music" being played. Well, here is my response to that, if you were the dj playing that time set, you would have been playing the same shit, did I enjoy playin it? HELL NO!!

You guys dont understand the politics of Phantom lounge. With the exception of Eso. If you play anywhere from 10-1, you HAVE TO PLAY CHEESE or you will be skinned alive.

Think about this, did any of you notcie how many djs there were? I counted 6 including myself and Eso. Umm thats not normal. One guy came running in about 1:30 kickin the other dj off. Like what the fuck is that? No respect at all, seems like he wants the spot light to himself, and on top of that hes a superstar MC. Ummm NOT!!

I do not enjoy playin cheese, why do I pay it? Because I have to, and thats what I get paid for.

If there is anyone here that would like to take my spot playin cheese. please take over, because I'd rather play trance for 45mins, rather than chesse for 3 hours.

Eso, all I have to say is I'm sorry about what happen, we talked before you played, and we both knew right then and there that bullshit like this would happen. Its happen before and it will happen again. Nice track selection on your set. Personally I think trance should be played all night there. People will still come, and thats a guarentee.

Hopefully you guys will all come back in support of your local trance djs.

Yea, I thought there might be some of that policy BS goin' on.
I could tell just be some of the reactions of the DJs and the fact that nothing seemed to 'line up' as far as a flowing set going on.
I don't blame you at all.
I'm just sorry you have to put up with that.

listen bro.....if u dont wanna play wat ur playing, dont play it.... thats wat eso is doing...he refuses to spin anything but trance and thats wat we support him for the most...his goal in doing what he likes and not what the others like...dont try to make me feel guilty for sayin that u played monkey music....COS U DID and when i say monkey music, i dont mean EVERYthing u played, i mean the Hip hop/ Rnb BS that u played alone..instead of that, play Garage which is more uptempo and less degrading but on the same principles... as for the other stuff u spun, man ask the others, i was singin along.... it wasnt BAD it was alright.....im not a hardcore trance fan.... nor do i wanna be...

You know why I was there last night, and will be there next Saturday? I'm covering for someone who went away on vacation for 2 weeks. Thats the real reason. As for playin the stuff I do, and not enjoyin that type of music too much, I dont have much choice. I mean, sometimes money counts. And in my situation right now it does, sad but true.

As for the Hip Hop/R&B set. It was requested by the owner. So I couldnt really say much. I dont think it was all that bad, people were enjoyin themselves...I think?

Note* What they did to Eso wasnt right, and having 5-6 djs during the corse of a night isnt right either....dont you think?

Even being just a one night patron there and hearing what I heard was enough to convince me that the owners are wacked.

I certainly don't blame the DJs, cause I know DJs aren't that dumb.
