Spam thru Email...HELP!
I've been getting spam by this company for a couple of days now..and they just won't stop!!!
I've asked them to remove me a couple of times...I've even sent them a very professional email stating they made me victim of abuse and that i will never consider to buy their products....
And I just received another email!!
This is what it says, on the bottom, after the advertisement:

I went to www.oin.com whih is (ofcourse
) an advertisement site.
I've also sent complaints to the companies that have been advertised in the emails.
IT JUST DOESN'T HELP!!!
Can anyone tell me what to do? Can I send a virus?

heh...try 'n get in touch with ur isp & maybe they can block it
...or better get *their* isp to stop sending the spam...i think u can find their mail server in the email source code or something
hehe...send them a virus...sounds like fun...tho dunno if it'll do much, but worht a try if u're really p/o'ed at them
g-l!
or you can just block there e-mail address =/
ye I did..but I think I should take more action than that! These people should understand how Fucken annoying they are!! People always tell me when I'm annoying..soo.....
Oh, and sending them a profesional letter is nice, but a waste of time. No one will read the letter, they have people who write, and keep the system running corectly, it'll just ignore the message. This is true of all mailing lists, you need to follow specific instructions to get removed, and 90% of the time it works too. Besides its not worth the time/effort to send them a virus in an e-mail that wont ever be opened, or mail there isp.
@ hotmail, u can block the ending bit of any email e.g block all email addresses ending with @hotmail.com
anyone sending email thru hotmail wont get to u
If you're using Outlook, just create a RULE that sends any email from that company directly to the TRASH
yahoo filters out about 90% of all spam mail (which is like 10 messages a day for me), but still 1 or 2 make it to the inbox... god i hate those "who wants a bigger penis" e-mails... who wants a bigger brain???
the interesting part is that most of these emails are not *spam*, as they claim. at the bottom, where it gives you an address to unsubscribe, it sometimes says that if you have an option to unsubscribe - it's not spam... of course, those companies sell and resell your address to dozens of others, so unsubscribing doesn't help at all.
you can try to set up a filter that filters out emails with certain words (like sex, credit, unsubscribe, unsolicited, spam, etc. - those are pretty commmon).

I never even bother to try and remove myself from spam lists, a lot of times attempting a remove will encourage them even more, as it indicates that your address is still active.
The best way I've found to not get spam is to only give out your actual e-mail address to friends, and then set up a secondary account with a party like Yahoo or Hotmail that you use for signing up for web sites, ordering things, etc, etc, etc.
If you're currently buried in spam at your primary address the best advice I can give is to talk to your ISP and change your e-mail address so you can start over again. Once your e-mail is on the lists you'll never be free of spam again...

If you check the header of the email its probably also addressed to 100 people with similiar email addresses.
speaking of spam this was on /. and I thought it was pretty funny...

its a story about how the spammers feel... what a bunch of whiners...
also this is an okay way to prevent spam... I've used it before... it works okay... but it's not perfect...

it's a distributed solution to the problem... try it out...

the serious problem is that people are so gullible, they actually think by clicking "unsubscribe", that they will be unsubscribed.
the reality, kids, is that more often than not, that subscribes you.
most of those spam emails, you notice how they go to a random address like a random yahoo address if you are yahoo, etc. they dont come specifically to your email address. i mean, think about it. you go to a website, and then enter in your email. guess what? now they have your specific email that they can send all the spam they want to.
i was this stupid once, and did that. i went from getting one email every week to about 10 a DAY... all because i was stupid and did that unsubscribe thing, then realized how much of a dumbass i was. its easy to see once you think about it.
and the reality is, it wont stop. nothing you will do will do jack shit. your only option now is to learn from your mistake, and get a new email address. filters might help with some, but i still get a shitload of spam... so soon ill get a new email address too and be smarter.
I just use the mail filters in outlook, i set up a rule telling outlook if it recieves a mail containing certain words then to delete it str8 away.
the main word in my set of rules is 'sex' lol
i can't remember what site it was but it was a DJ site and i ordered something off it, from placing that order they had my mail addy and then the spam started rolling in
10 to 15 a day so in the rule i simply put in the main part of the mail addy they was coming from which was something like
opt.in.freebies
so now i don't get anything from them and my spam mail has been vastly reduced, if they change the mail addy slightly then i just set up another rule
LOL!
I get that crap all the time also~
I just use filters in Outlook as well as my 'block senders' list is pretty extensive!
Either that, or get some people together and DOS them to death till there site is no more!
Kinda like the deal that happened with the DOS attack on the "ANTI PEER TO PEER PROGRAM COMITY" LOL!
Cheers,
Zigg's
