Oh, and since the track list is so long, I really couldn't be arsed to add in the label names, which I normally do. Typing up that list was a big enough pain in the ass
any plans on a SC upload or is that too much?

, played a bunch of those tracks in my past shows and sets.
gonna need some time for this.

Okay, so I guess I'm the first person to have listened to this monster the whole way through.
Sorry Adam, I can't say I was too impressed with it. I think it's your first ever mix that I haven't liked. The flow was fine, if a little static, with most of the tracks seeming to have the same energy level and little variation. The mixing was mostly acceptable, but there were a number of transitions where the bass began to clip very audibly, for as long as a whole phrase. I've never noticed this in any of your previous efforts, so this surprised me.
As for the music itself...I found it all pretty generic. It's the kind of prog I listen to on beatport, think about buying, then realise I'll forget about in a month. There were very, very few tracks which I felt had much depth or substance. Perhaps that's because I derive most of my enjoyment from this kind of music via basslines, and this tech-influenced stuff doesn't pay much attention to that aspect. Regardless, I was disappointed with the lack of creativity. You've clearly done the best with what's available at the moment, but the problem is that for me, what's available isn't inspiring in the least.
Ouch, clipping, really? I didnt notice that. I think its likely because of the recording method I used this time, which was different from any other
mix Ive done (needless to say, there were some complications and I had to be a little creative as a result). I guess I must have set the record volume too
high which resulted in the clipping.
As for the mix itself, I have to say Im pretty surprised by your reaction. I mean Ill admit, this was pretty much a take everything Ive bought off Beatport
in the last 3 months and throw it into one big mix kind of scenario, but I really didnt think it was generic or by the numbers. I guess as this sound is becoming
more and more common these days, however, it is losing its luster, which I can agree with. But still, I think that there are some fantastic tracks in here that
I personally really enjoy. They are all very much dance floor oriented, so not exactly the kind of music youd watch the sunset to or anything like that.
Either way, this is probably my last prog mix for a while. I guess I just built up this list of tracks that I felt I needed to use, seeing as how I dont play
out so I didnt have an outlet for them or any other way really to not make me feel as if Ive spent all that money only to do absolutely nothing
with the actual music. A throwaway? No way. But I will admit, this wasnt as thought out as most of what Ive done before.
Either way, thanks for the insightful review. Gives me a lot of food for thought!
Very nice to see another Prog mix from you... Sushi host means I can listen at work too. Really excited to hear this, I've been a bit out of touch with music lately.
+1 on the clipping... Great set nevertheless. You already know this isnt really my favourite style and so did i before downloading it, but it was a pleasant listen. It was nice to program like a madman to this
holy shit...will try to listen to this soon.
Thank you very much for this spectacular mix good sir.
Great looking TL!
Downloaded to try and help me survive my 12hr car ride tomorrow
Will be listening to this mix for quite a long time. Well done!
Thanks Yohan!
o rly?
i just made one too, was coming back here to post it real quicklike. but glad to see this. grabbing for tomorrow's entertainments.
I've given this a few good listens over the past few days - and I very much like it. Favorites are the Tom Middleton mix of Guy J right at the beginning, the Nick Warren track, and How To Escape Yourself. Plus some other great grooves in there, I'll have to go through the individual songs.... my only complaint was I noticed a slight bit of clipping/distortion as well
Great showcase of current-day prog, and probably my favorite mix of yours since your Nov 2010 one. Been extremely busy at work these past few weeks, so it's nice to have some great music to get me through.
