Red face computer program suggestions please..?!

I don't ask much from you assholes but I need some suggestions for a program to use to make a photo slideshow... My grandpa died last night and my dad is writing an obituary and his sisters want him to make a slideshow for the funeral. What would be a good program to use online or to purchase to do such a thing?

Lol ooooo sic burn.. But it's for my dad who is more then competent. What version do you use? (Does that even make sense? I'm CLEARLY the one who's retarded when it comes to this stuff.

prezi.com is free and online based so there will need to be an internet connection to view it, but it looks nice.
Once you drop in all of the photos you want create a path to each then.

To make your Prezi autoplay, and loop:

Go to Show mode
Hold down the bottom right arrow button, and choose a timing interval
To stop, just press Next or Previous.

Thanks! I'll pass this along...

It depends on how you want display them. For example one way is to create a slideshow on a dvd. The advantage is people don't need to be computer savvy to watch and you could show them using a dvd player/laptop and digital projector at the reception. There are also numerous online service that allow you upload photos and create slideshows for free. With that method all you need to do is send a link to it and anyone can view no matter where they are located.

Keep it simple, go for PowerPoint.

Prezi is nice but tbh it's a bit of a gimmick. The timing controls are weak too.

Powerpoint is your friend or even Windows Movie Maker or www.jaycut.com if you want to layer music on properly.

Best Option: Powerpoint

Free Option: OpenOffice.org Impress - Download by going to openoffice.org and clicking the "I want to download Openoffice.org" link.

couldn't you just put all the images in 1 folder and click the slideshow button, windows should do this already doesn't it?

Posted by wienerschnitzel on Apr-25-2011 18:23:

In theory that would probably work, but I think my dad want's to try and make it better then that... Thanks again for your help guys, apart from buying my dad a 18 year old bottle of single malt scotch this was the only other thing I could think of that could help.

I'm sorry for your loss.

i know this is probably too late, but if you would like i can use Adobe Lightroom to create a slide show timed with music. The final output would be a video file.

here is the slideshow my dad made, these are of my grandpa and grandma, (grandma passed away on december 17 2009) there is no music, he wasn't sure what they wanted for the funeral home? anyway... probably won't be too interesting

Posted by igottaknow on Apr-28-2011 18:36:

nice, but the motion gives me a nauseous vertigo feeling. i always include music because you can turn down the volume if you don't want it. youtube will remove any copyright music.
