sampled vocals on Vengeance Vocal Essentials?

hi,

bought "Vengeance Vocal Essentials 1" and found a lot of commerical vocal samples there:

* Re-Flex - Babadeng
* The Hypnotist - House is Mine (Original from Lynx)
* Suzanne Vega - Tom's Diner
* Mantronix - Do You Like Mantronik?
* Bassboy - Let The Bass Be Louder
* Tyree Cooper - Turn up the Bass
* Public Enemy - Various samples
* maybe much more

is it really legal to use them????????????

chck it out here: http://www24.zippyshare.com/v/23734868/file.html

Sue Vengeance because they sold you samples they don't own.

In all honesty, I'd love to see that happen. Nobody ever seems to have taken the effort though. All rights owners would need to team up in order to have a proper case and to prove structural breach of rights by Vengeance.

I wish dance music would stop using cheesy little samples like this, heh. Sorry, can't answer your question.

What does the license say?

While you're checking the license, you may want to see what it says about redistributing the samples.

Shoot most of these vocals are abused. I abuse them too. :P

Sampling from youtube videos seems the way to go now.

I recently did a remix of an old youtube meme on request.

http://www.youtube-mp3.org

This one does the job.

And old dusty vinyls from the x0s don't?
Sometimes you have to be willing to sacrifice sound quality if you absolutely need something in your mix, like something from a speech etc.

Even though they use used airplane gasoline when they make cocaine, that doesn't mean the end product won't be awesome.

Just for a quick vocal one shot it's fine. If it was for kick drums it would be horrible, and most people can't even tell the difference.

"analog warmth" is just coloration of the sound.

but I think the driving force of his argument was the "dusty" part.

Most people don't take good care of their vinyl, which is why the sound quality is commonly bad.

Given, youtube's compression is much worse then some dust on an old vinyl, but the point remains the same.

People will listen to youtube happily, throwing one sampled vocal from youtube won't kill your entire track.

vinyl sounds better imo.

That's actually a really cool way of sampling for vocals. I kind of do it but not a lot. I've just done drum loops but I want to start recording vocals from movies.

Lol 6+ years later? Be careful sampling from movies. Firstly it's very 1999-2003 and secondly, if your track ever actually made it commercial, you can guarantee the owner of the film rights will come after you. It's fine for 99% of tracks, but if you somehow make that smash hit, your royalties are going to someone else.
