Wien

Hallllooo Deutsche party-people!

Ok so jetzt...English...
I'm not looking only for trance parties. I like techno, tech-house, and deep house also. I'm not a big fan of electro-house events though. So far I have found out about the following places: Pratersauna, Passage, Volksgarten, Market, and Morisson Club.

In addition to advice about places to go / parties to check out, I was hoping you all could tell me a few important phrases to remember for going out? Such as - phrases to know/say at a door so I don't have to speak English to know what's going on. What are some things to say at the bar? I'm competent enough to order a drink and pay, of course, but maybe I should remember a few other things?
Should I expect to have to pay to get into most places? If so, what's a standard price?
What should I say to girls that I might meet

Vielen Dank

Check out Pratersauna and Market. Best clubs for these kind of music.
Dont go to Passage or Volksgarten. Expensive and very snobby.
Morisson is closed at the moment.
Standard entry fee is 8 - 12.

You can feel free to speak english. Almost everyone is more or less fluent with it here. Also there is no hard door policy in Viennas clubs. At least if you dont wear dreadlocks and baggy pants

If you talk to a nice girl tell her "ich habe einen groen Wiener!"

Ahh thank you.

Would you have any advice for things going on May 19-22? I saw that Volksgarten is temporarily closing. I miggght check out Passage, it seems to have deep/tech parties, even if it is expensive.

I was looking on pratersauna's website and they are having some poolbar events. Do you know anything about those / what to expect? Are they night-time parties? I see that Tiga is playing one of them. I'm not very familiar with him, aside from some of his electro house productions that I've heard. I'm not very big on electro-house though. Maybe he plays tech at parties? I'll have to look into it.

I was just looking and see that Flex in Vienna has a party with Dominik Eulberg playing on the 21st. I'm not familiar with him but I was checking out his productions and that seems right up my alley It says that the party starts at 10:30. What time do you think it would end?

Thankss!

The club at the Flex Cafe could be something for you (check www.flex.at)

ex:iga

Flex is ok if you are not over 25!
I might check out that party with Dominik Eulberg! He just released a new album this week and is one of the few techno djs/producers from germany who dont play boring minimal techno/house music.

For parties check out technoboard.at ( http://www.technoboard.at/#caloptions ) or http://www.hauptstadt.at/hauptstclubs.html at the week of your arrival.

Due to a political issue clubs ( except for pratersauna and fluc wanne ) close at 4:00 am

If I were you,I would avoid Passage. Horrible atmosphere and the people are there to be seen and for nothing else.

If you want some good crowd partiing to good music check out pratersauna or fluc wanne. Flex is ok too if there are not too many young people. But maybe it is just me with my 28 years

Posted by LAdazeNYnights on May-11-2011 06:03:

Well...I'm only 22 (almost 23) so too many young people isn't an issue for me at all hahahaha

What's up with the "poolbar party" at pratersauna? Do they have a pool there?

I think I'll definitely go to the party at Flex then Should I buy advance tickets for it or will it not be a problem at the door?

I'm flying out to Innsbruck tomorrow ! Very excited for the trip

Thanks for all the help

Yea they got a pool at Pratersauna. But I myself wouldn't dare to go in there.

Dont think you will need tickets in advance. Flex is pretty big.

Hey man just wanted to thank you again.
I'm finally here in Wien! Probably staying in tonight (had a late night in Innsbruck...)

The two websites you linked have been really helpful too! I'm not quite sure what I want to do tomorrow night - I'm leaning towards pratersauna though, but my cousin suggested I check that out late night saturday because flex closes earlier.

What is pratervilla? It's the same address as pratersauna- is it like a side room? Thanks thanks thanks

Are you gonna go to the Eulberg party?

Pratervilla could be the cheap thing next to Sauna. Better avoid that.
Still not sure about Eulberg since I dont like Flex anymore. But I will most likely go to Tiga tonight at Pratersauna.

hey so did you go to either of the parties?
i would've liked to do more party hopping in vienna but ended up just doing pratersauna and then flex on saturday. i really enjoyed both parties, but i liked pratersauna more. flex got wayyy too crowded a bit after eulberg went on. i went to that party alone, too, so i only stayed until about 3:30 before going back to my hotel.

i loved the pratersauna party though!! it certainly helped that as soon as my brothers and i stepped foot out of the u-bahn station there while I was trying to figure out where to go I heard a group of four girls speaking english. Asked em "hey you guys speak english?? do you know where pratersauna is??" they were looking for it too! it was lucky that they were speaking english- 3 of em were from wien, but 1 was visiting from paris and didn't speak german. needless to say, I hit it off really well with one of the girls and had a fantastic fantastic night at pratersauna where we even drunkly took pictures in the photo booth

p.s. i love how cheap drinks are in austria omg ~3.40 for .5l of beer is great!
