Smile I need more trance...

Starting this topic was difficult... I was just enjoying Above and Beyond - Sirens of the Sea and I decided to join this amazing forum.

This is my first post, so if this is in the wrong section feel free to poke me about that

I am a big fan of the "oldskool" ones ( let's say from 1994 - 1999 ) I was a big fan of Sensation White, until 2006 where they merged Black and White into the shittest event I ever heard

I have been listening to some newer trance in the past years, but I could never listen to all of them. So i'm looking for a way to expand my view on trance, that which I have loved since I was young.

From ATB till Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten I know them all. But I was hoping to find some input from you guys to discover trance-legends that I have never heard of.

I am mostly looking for the "older" trance, and new trance also applies. A mix of trance with dance/techno is fine aswell

It would be to hard to name all the artists I know

Drop me a name, and I'll listen

PS: And yes I actually admit that, when trance touches my heart and soul, I sometimes feel a tear rolling down my cheek. Damnit, I love trance so f*cking much!

These compilations are must haves:

Behind The Eye - Eye Q Records compilations 1 to 4 + Five Years Of Eye Q Records too.

Platipus Records (Volumes 1 to at least 5)

They will cover the basics for you, and they are really, really awesome.

Look into all of Tiesto's work from 1999-2002 era

His best stuff from that time period are, IMO...

Tiesto - Suburban Train
Jan Johnston - Flesh (Tiesto Remix)
Delerium - Silence (Tiesto In Search of Sunrise Mix)
Goldenscan - Sunrise (Tiesto Remix)
Baleric Bill - Destination Sunshine (Tiesto Power Mix)
Aria One - Willow (DJ Tiesto Magikal Remake)
Tiesto - Sparkles

ignore his cheesy stuff like... Adagio For Strings, Flight 643, Traffic..

if you want HARD trance, then listen to:

Megara vs DJ Lee - For a Moment (Original Mix)
Megara vs DJ Lee - Hold Your Hands Up High (Original Mix)

Other good songs are:

Tastexperience - Highlander (Original Mix) <--- I thank System-J for this one
Tastexperience - Summersault (Original Mix)
Lost Tribe - Gamemaster
Rank 1 - Airwave (Original Mix)
Gouryella - Gouryella

if you totally want an old school track list, here you go:
http://www.listology.com/list/top-4...tracks-all-time

"The Top 100 Greatest Trance Songs" is a list from the TranceAddict leader himself, I believe. correct me if I'm wrong.
http://www.listology.com/list/100-greatest-trance-songs

^ (did the creator of TA create that list?)

What the hell makes Flight 643 cheese and not the rest of the stuff on your tiestolist?

Sirens; ignore Pluvoise, Vernon and saluyamos replies are the only ones you need.

Kurt Cobain said these exact words as he steadied the shotgun in his mouth.

Also check Andy Blueman if you need more gay trance. He is the master of it.

Sorry I guess that's just my opinion. Flight 643 and Adagio just never did the trick for me, that's all.

Flight 643 was just nowhere near touching as Suburban Train and the other stuff I listed.

just my opinion though

He is still looking for stuff he hasn't heard of before. Your opinion on Tiestos tracks has nothing to do in this thread. Not only is Tiesto the one guy almost everyone knows from trance, but he specifically mentioned his name in his post as someone he already knew. It seems like all your posts are the same, mentioning obvious tracks everyone and their dog knows from back then. Stop replying to threads where you have nothing to add to what OP is asking for.

OP: Vincent De Moor, Man With No Name, Resistance D, Art of Trance, Union Jack

Posted by Dj Pluviose on May-04-2011 17:55:

So what, I'm sure he doesn't know some of the tracks I listed.

Even if he didnt ask for Tiesto I still posted other artists like Tastexperience and linked him to the Listology track hits.

Im sure he'll find a lot of other artists *besides* Tiesto in that list.

So fuck off my nuts if you think going a little bit off topic is the worst thing to have ever happen on TA forum.

Posted by Redd on May-04-2011 18:03:

Sure, being a useless dweeb is ok as long as you're not the worst thing that's happened to human kind. Go on, find another thread where you can tell us all about your 99-02 classics.

Yeah Eller van Buuren was awesome with Time To Rest.

After 20 years listening trance I fail to see the connection to gay, but then again House Party of the label Arcade won't ring any bells I'm afraid.

To OP: check the "Trancemaster", "Trance Nation" and "Bonzai" series. Many famous ones are on those. A lot of variation so you need to listen for yourself and see what you like and what you don't.

Awesome Bonzai:

Since your Dutch check the one below and Matt Pincer, also an Dutch trance producer.

hey moron, just because you prefer psy over other types of trance doesn't make every other subgenre gay.

btw;

What do you mean, to buy? See Discogs.

I bought several of them in Germany, same for Trance Nation by the way. Think most used ones can be found there.
Don't know if someone can offer the entire collection.
Label of Trancemaster was Eurovision Soundcarriers.

DJ YAHEL - Going Up, Open your Mind, Skywalker, voyage, Devotion, Intelligent Life, Any of his older Stuff. Yahel is probably a better Trance DJ then all of em out now, but now he plays more PSY stuff.

And from some reason, you haven't mentioned FERRY CORSTEN.

Go find every last Live Mix from 05 and before. FERRY IS GDLK.

Oh yea, Mauro Picotto. This guy pretty much invented this Big Rise and Hard Drop in Trance......10+ Yrs aGo!!!!!!

Also, a Trip in Trance Vol 1-6 and Trip in Trance the Classic, and Trance Republic. HI-BIAS releases that are the Best Trance Compilations ever, No Contest.
