RUM JUNGLE edmonton question

hey all,

quick question..

what type of club is rum jungle in edmonton like do DJ's ever play there or is it a top 40 euro club.

...frankly, Rum Jungle is a pretty sorry club.

The resident "DJ" there (last I checked) pretty much just played a bunch of Top 40 type stuff, with horrible track progression (Heavy Metal to a "house" song to an R&B track), and a really bad wannabe Chris Sheppard accent.

As for the crowds that go there, not really my style - far too many overpriced skanky hoochies there.

The worst club in Edmonton
Unless you are a chachi or barbie doll you wont like...the DJ is a top 40 DJ
I hate that place but it is always busy

Question is, which clubs in Edmonton would you recommend?

Magestik has some pretty good music, but has been pretty much dead every single time I've been there. I used to like Lush, but they moved away from the type of music I like (progressive trance, hard trance, etc.). Ever After had some potential, aside from not actually being a bar...

Any suggestions for clubs that you've liked (good atmosphere, more normal women, etc.)?

Thursday's at Majestik are really good Sweetz and Tripswith are always good
I dont go to lush anymore either
Climaxx is good (especially when I play there)and Donovan, Mr. Anderson, and Ashely are always good

...yup, I live in Edmonton, and go to Grant MacEwan downtown.

Trying to think of where Climaxx is, not sure I've heard of it.

In case you're wondering about my name, I've done a fair amount of digital mixing on my PC, but haven't had the opportunity yet to try out turntables (mostly due to the money involved).

The only bar I like somewhat right now is The Roxy on Whyte, but the DJ isn't very good. Was there on Saturday, and the only real suprise for me was that he played a house/trance track that I had never heard before - rare in a place that is mostly Top 40 type stuff.

You might like pure accross the street...Dragon usually spins some good beats.

I dont know if I spin this weekend though.

i went to lush like every wednesday during school last year but i havent been there in forever, its a shame i missed its glory days of good musik cause it sucks for tunes right now basically ive found
im a chillin around kinda guy so i pretty much like just going to Backroom or Savoy and, well chillin
altho these bars dont really have anything to do with trance

I like the ambiance in those establishments.

Climaxx is an OK place but I hear of a lot of bad stuff that happens there. I haven't been for a long time.

ive never been to climaxx, which is sad if its good and all
i havent even been to backroom in like 5 months
altho i will be hitting up savoy and backroom at least once a week each now that i work within a block of both
