Question about releasing tracks
I already have 2 tracks signed to a label and they're in queue to be released around the end of next month. I have another track though, that I'd like to release as well, would it be a bad idea to send it to labels now, or should I wait until the other 2 tracks are released beforehand?
Also I wasn't really sure where to put this so if it needs to be moved I apologize!
I'd go ahead and send it out. The more tracks you have out the better, at least in my opinion it is. What label were you thinking about sending it to?
Bazooka records. They're a pretty big Electro label.
Yeah, I'd send it in as soon as possible if you have already established your self with that label.
send it to djs first to try get some feedback maybe you can get better deals if its played by big ones. i dont know.
i think big djs only play signed tracks, you know, they receive tons of stuff and the big morons in charge of the promos only check stuff that it is signed and well known

i was owned. been out of game for too long lol. i have no idea really. still i would just send CDs to big djs anyway. "signed" is taking you nowhere.
cds lol yes you seem rusted :P sending them a cd or mp3 (although i agree cd is more professional)is a way to get their attention, you can always do what breakfast did, go to a gig of the artist and give him in hand a cd with your tracks (despite this surely isn't new for them anymore).
Sending them mp3 to the big names isn't working i think, i've never sent them anything, in fact i shared a track with ferry corsten and called it a "Demo" instead of a "Promo" although i clearly exposed that i didn't want it signed because it was already signed i got an email back saying that that email adress was for promos for Ferry Corsten's gigs and radioshow and blablabla 2 sheets. O.o Good to see they're so serious with their stuff but come on...
And i honestly think they don't listen to new talents, i only see Markus Schulz taking some time the rest play always the same artists tracks.
On topic, i'd wait till they're released, depending on how long it will take but it's a good idea to spread the time of your releases a bit, you don't want to have 4 tracks in stores the same week and 2 months of emptyness. (Although Arty did this and you see it worked)
Do people send multiple tracks to multiple labels at roughly the same time? I dont mean the same track either. Like if you had 3 or 4 tracks ready to submit?
It all depends on what you want.
If it's different tracks you're sending to different labels then I don't see any problem.
If you send the same tracks to multiple labels at the same time make sure they don't know about it as it will lower your odds
.
Definatley different tracks, not the same. Probably completely different genres to each other also.
