To Fraggle and any other Nvidia ppl using Max/Maya/etc

I've got a Leadtek Geforce 3 Ti200 128mb and i run a program called rivatuner v2 and it's got a way to make any Geforce card run as it's Professional Quadro relative (and very expensive too)

For example a

Geforce256 becomes a Quadro
Geforce2 becomes a Quadro2
Geforce3 becomes a Quadro DCC
Geforce4 becomes a Quadro GXP970

It adds new OpenGL functions to your ICD and adds hardware accelerated lines. And it has optimisations for most of the 3D/CAD programs used as well

Here's my display properties now

Tranzmit...r u using the nvidia detonator drivers?

...most of that stuff comes standard with the detonator drivers, in the nvidia quicktweak control thing...currently using 29.42, but 30.82 has been released just last week i think...have it, but haven't been bothered to install yet

umm, yeah u're right tho - hardware accellerated lines make a significant difference in 3d/cad programs

...another program to try is nvmax (http://www.majorgeeks.com/article.php?sid=387), which will add overclocking menu to ur display properties

good thing with nvmax is it's all registry settings...so u don't need the program to be running to use it...just install, setup & off u go

...i'm not too up on the quadro stuff...i know it's a professional range of nvidia based cards...but i dunno how it differs...guess i'll check the nvidia site to read up more

well thanks for the info, i think one advantage of rivatuner is it allows greater than the locked 60MHz screen rates on 2k/xp gaming...something that can be quite annoying for some ppl

laterz!

No no you don't understand. The Quadro boards are Nvidia "Professional" cards but they're just Geforce's that they sell as pro cards so a Geforce 2 sells as a quadro 2 but nvidia make it so that when u install the dets they recognize that it's a "quadro" and not just a plain geforce and they install special drivers that are highly optimised for rendering software. Sometimes doubling or tripling performance of a gaming geforce.

The cool thing is that rivatuner just tells computer u have the quadro instead of just a geforce and it installs all the drivers for it

This is a bench suite for professional openGL apps like maya and 3dsmax. Geforce 2 is purple and the Geforce 2 changed to Quadro2 is in light yellow.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

hehehe...now i c

...so do i have to reinstall the detonators, or does rivatuner just run on top?

i still have to sort out some stability issues yet...namely some artifacts, agp 4x and some occasional opengl hanging

...yet to try out the latest detonators, but got to thinking my yumcha 250w psu might be something to do with problems seeing gf4s are supposed to be quite power hungry

well...scrounge some money together for one of them antec truepower 480w power supplies & i'll see if that fixes it first

thanks agian Tranzmit!!!

cya in a couple o' weeks

just download the latest rivatuner v2 from www.guru3d.com

You'll also make sure you don't install the latest 30. dets as they don't work with rivatuner. It might help with a bigger powersupply so give that a shot i guess

good luck
