Predator crashes logic?
Anyone had problems with predator crashing Logic 9?
I know there's an update for it (1.6) but people are giving mixed reports about it and some have no problems at all.
Any ideas/knowledge peeps?

Hey Tom, I'm using Predator 1.6 with Sonar (VST) and PT9 (RTAS) and I'm finding it to be pretty unstable as well, so I suspect that it's a problem with the synth, not Logic. It seems to work fine if I use it in Vienna Ensemble Pro as a sub host, though.

Cheers Dave. I was beginning to think that. I didn't want to go trhoguh the hassle of updating it if it's just going to do the same thing and by all account sit looks lke it will.
I've got a feeling doing a verify disk permission, followed by a rescan may sort it as another papen plugin was doing the same thing at the studio and that fixed it.
Annoying though, as predator is probably my fave synth.

I'm running it with logic 9.1.3 and it is perfectly stable so far.

Not really - chkdisk just checks the integrity of the disk, defragment would probably be closer but repair disk permissions fixes the locations of files in relation to indexing; essentially it's making sure that files are meant to be in their proper place and all tie up.
It's really the only bit of maintenance you have to do on a mac and even then you just do it every few months at most.
@elipse - what version of predator are you running?

In fairness, it's 3.5 years old, never been formatted and have abused the fuck out of for everything from video production to audio mixing to graphic design and pesonal crap like every photo I've ever taken, not to mention running my business on it.
It still never maxes out in logic which amazes me.
Thinking of which...going to start a new thread about a super cheap way to get a seriously well performing mac
