Looks like Kinetic Field is going to be my home for both days, at least at the 7pm-12am hour slots. Anyone know the roundabout prices for alcohol? I'm trying to write up a budget for that weekend.

Beardyman got around the same amount of time at Ultra this year. Think it was a 15-20 minute slot.

did anyone see that Ferry Corsten is at the Roxy in Orlando tonight. It was advertised on the festival guide handed out... Just figured I would point this out since this is TA

Yeah, I was really annoyed with that. I didn't plan on staying any longer than after Saturday night because I was driving home right after EDC ended. Kind of annoying that they failed to lock in the after parties until Friday morning. That definitely needs to be cleaned up for next year.

Keep in mind this is my take on my EDC experience and may vary greatly from yours, that being said:

I had a blast. I got to Orlando Friday morning and checked into my hotel which was about a 10 minute drive from Tinker Field. I was glad to find that parking was not overpriced and only payed $10 to park right beside the Entrance/Exit. Met up with a few people and waited for the gates to open. Unfortunately, they opened 30 minutes past 2. Not really a big deal, but slightly annoying in the heat.

I was really wondering how the security/check-in process would go. As they let us in I noticed that they were making folks remove their shoes and thoroughly going through bags and pat downs. Fortunately the Police kind of hurried the guy up and told him "We can't go super in-depth for every person or we will be here all night." Other than that TSA style shoe removing, the process was quick and painless.

Once in I scoped out the rides and venues. I'm not much into rides and didn't ride any, but for those who enjoy that kind of thing there was about 5-6 rides around the entire event.

Kinetic Field - I immediately headed to the Kinetic Field as that was the only stage that had any of the DJ's I wanted to see both days. This stage was in the baseball field, had two rides and a huge daisy which stretched out to the sides (Until the wind picked up and blew it apart, I was actually under it when this happened.) The stage had tons of lights, smoke machines, flamethrowers and confetti. Huge field, not surprising seeing as it was the main stage.

Circuit Grounds - Also had two rides and a small light art installation in the center. Another huge field with food/vendors close-by.

Neon-Garden and Bass Pod - Smaller stages with one having a ride and the other just the stage itself.

Food/Alcohol was priced about what I expected it to be. They had an array of stuff ranging from Ribs to Papa John's Pizza. The $10 refillable water bottle payed for itself within hours of buying it the first day. I could either pour the water on myself or drink it without feeling the burn in my pockets.

As for the acts, I felt like the first day was kind of light and the second day having more big artists. That may just be because of who I wanted to see. Which consisted of Markus, Ferry, G&D, Benny, Filo & Peri and PVD.

The showmanship of the festival was great. Clowns, Stilt-Walkers, Break Dancers, and Nigel Ficke. Nigel was hilarious minus the constant jabbering during PVDs set.

Overall, I had tons of fun. If not for the terrible folks around me on Friday night, I would have said it was amazing. I'll just chalk that up to roid-heads and idiot kids.

A definite thumbs up and looking forward to next years.

--------------------------------------------------------

TLDR: It was fun and instantly take back all the negative comments I threw up prior to the event.
