Cool, saved it to my HD for a quick reference.

It's interesting, though, that it recommends either cutting or boosting at 300 Hz for vocals, since that's a pretty notorious muddy area for vocals and I don't think I've ever found a need to boost anything there. I pretty much always find myself having to cut a notch around 400-500 Hz to get rid of some of the muddiness with female vox, and there can be a buildup of muddy frequencies a little lower than that on male vox.

notice how 2-5kHz is a no go for any sound. IE the smiling curve as ive been talking about before. this is because thats where the human ear is so fucking sensitive anything would sound like shit.

Yeah that's definitely a mistake in the wording. They simply mean "cut, reduced".

By the way, this is talking about acoustic instruments, nothing to do with dance music kicks, for instance.
