the sweeps do not present much...

I think there is too much reverb going on. it drowns the mix.

Pleasant track to listen to and the lush pads and synths make for sonic goodness. The percs are interesting, although I think the white noise sweeps in certain areas could be a bit more pronounced.

I'd say around 3:15...the kick seems a bit weak here and the build-up suffered for it imo.

The anthem is nice, but doesn't seem to stick out in my head after listening to it...Maybe make it a little more pronounced.

I had layered three different kicks actually..one of them had slight reverb..also added some reverb to the mix...just to dampen it a little...it was sounding too dry on my monitors here..maybe it was an illusion to my punctured ears..ill remove it and see how it sounds now .. thanks again dude ...About your track i like the way you mixed it...although the interruptions seemed a bit too exagerrated...maybe i havent listened to that kinda stuff before..

Hey thanks again..Yeh man even I felt so .. tried to sidechain ... didnt actually help..it destroyed the warmth... maybe its the reverb ...not too sure...could you share a few ideas in pronouncing? would appreciate it mate ..cheers

Best way to "pronounce" something would be to make it the thing you want the listener to be listening to. Here's some thoughts :

1:14 - The supporting line is introduced. I don't feel this qualifies as a melody or "main theme". But it does carry the track where it needs to go.

2:06 - Introduction of the arpeggio on top of the supporting line. It switches it up a bit and maintains interest. Everything's still gravy.

2:55 - Ah, this sounds like the main melody.

3:12 - I feel that this is where everything falls apart. The top arps added here seem redundant (and even slightly obnoxious) on top of the main melody and everything here gets mixed into a wall of sound. (not the typical "compressed" wall of sound, but a wall of melody/harmony that's all competing for space)

Going out on a limb, I'd say that the track would benefit from the removal of the exaggerated top line that starts at the end of the build. (3:12) I'd wager that the melody would stand out better, given a little more room to breath. Less is definitely more sometimes.

Additionally, I think some of the sweeps/percs that come in and out after the build could be placed better as well. (reverse crash at 3:20) They're in time, but they seem random/awkward. The sweep leading into the build also gets drowned out and doesn't really add to the excitement imo.

Again, I'd say pick what you want as the main melody to be and make it stand out at the "top" of the build. Then you can venture into the accentuating lines 8-16 bars after the build.

There's no right or wrong way I guess, but I think there are better/worse ways of doing things.

Here's a song with similar song structure by airbase : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sq2D6YfIgkE that might show what I'm getting at.

It follows the same layout as your track : Starts with bass, adds supporting line, some phased pads in there for depth, typical builds/breaks...but at 3:58 listen to how the FX-sweep sets up the anthem, and then how the anthem plays out.

As for the kick...Try mixing again around the kick. Setting your kick at -3db digital gain in the mixer. Mixing down from that seems to give good results, and leaves you sufficient headroom for mastering.

If that doesn't solve your issue, try tinkering with the compression and use a slightly faster attack with a slightly higher ratio for more punch. (I typically use 8:1 for kicks) Since you're using 3 samples, you could also try boosting the sample in the 2.5khz range a db or so for more snap. Hopefully you've sent all 3 samples through the same compressor/eq/reverb. Then tinker with sidechain again.

I think that reverb on the kick is holding the track back. Handling that issue should improve the mixdown.
