More or less the kind of hitparade that you'd expect at a party like Cream. Nothing from his Harthouse-period, none of his techno material and generally a very safe set with little to no surprises. That mix from Dreamstate into Lithium I is an absolute dream, nonetheless. Pleasantly surprised to see him include the remix of Illuminatus as well, a criminally underrated track.

What I'd really like to know, however, is how such a low-key and linear set like this went down with the crowd there.

Thanks a lot for sharing it!

Yeah, I would have liked to hear some of his other stuff more than just the hits, but I still enjoyed this a lot. Haven't heard a few of those songs in a while and that mix from Dreamstate -> Lithium was fantastic.

My only problem with it was Far From Over. I've just never liked his remix of it. It starts off so strong and then hits the breakdown and kills the energy and the mood.

Very glad he recorded and uploaded this. Definitely a great set, except for that one song.

Yeah, that's what I remember him saying from the interview. He was talking about DJs playing mp3s under 320kps and not giving the crowd the full sound; also it being a waste of a club system.

Maybe he was tired, lol

Kinda lost some respect points for me though.

I wonder if he at least played WAVs?

sure, because anyone would have noticed the difference between wav and 320

True, but it's still odd he flip flopped. Listening to loads of vinyl and then switching to mp3s has its nuances.

vinyl sounds different than a wav but i don't think it's noticeable in a club, in fact i really doubt you can difference a 192k vs a wav in a crowded night

That's debatable. If we're talking about comparing a 192K vinyl rip MP3 to a 320 digital or WAV file than yeah, I think I could probably tell the difference. If we're talking about both rips being digital than no, probably not.

Jesus f'ing christ, I was constipated on the toilet when I saw this, read the title then I just unleashed hell on the bowl! I'm quite upset though, I could've gone to see this if I had known about it, hopefully he'll be back in Liverpool soon for another Cream event.

People in Liverpool were never really techno type people back in the mid and late 90s, people here listen to some of the shittest music such as funky house/electro, I imagine the crowd getting bored of liebs techno music very easily no matter how cool it is so I guess he chose his melodic trance tracks to play, I'm glad he played some of his tracks such as his remix of the fade and Netherworld

not to be an ass, but what you imagine isn't really to my interest

Sadly, I didn't end up going (even though I'd bought my ticket) because I started my new job the next morning. You can try dropping samuellamont a PM, as he was the promoter, and I think Acton went along as well.

Just telling you how it is here, I love liebs work but Liverpool has the worst taste in music, liebs techno and Liverpool's music culture probably would mix well, fault of the city of course

Yes I know, it's not just Liverpool, and it was the reason I was interested in knowing the reaction.

I'll wait for Acton or someone who attended to reply Jack, thanks.
