Lizandro Campos & Chris Calderon - Cool Summer Breeze 2011 (Drum & Bass Mix)

Ive always been a fan of D&B but never knew where to pluck my fruits from. I've had this friend (Chris Calderon ) whom i used to work with and all we ever spoke about was dance music but he was a bigger D&B aficionado. A few years later he decides to send me a ton of his personal favorite D&B tracks and I pick the ones i feel compliment each other well and others I really enjoyed. This set was mixed in Ableton Live 8.2.1. Since i'm currently in between school terms and activiated to work on a ship out here in california, i was able to spend an accumulated 27 hours editing the mix trying to bring it as close to perfect as i could. The way i mixed it is far different than my past mixes since ive taken the mixing ive been doing on serato with MIDI controllers and traditional EDM mixing with the eq'ing and such. Overall there is some of track modification in between mixing and such but outside of that its the usual calm introduction then it works its way to peak out in the end without being too overwhelming (we all know how overwhelming peak time D&B can get...) Anywho, ENJOY !

I listened to the mix the whole way through earlier. Off first listen i like it quite a bit. It's got this uplifting all enveloping happiness to it. Whatever track you got going on at 27 minutes is what really kicked it into overdrive for me. Makes me get all locked in and introspective. I'd love to be listening to this mix sitting on a bench (with a roof over it of course) while watching rain fall; and just think.
I appreciate the whole mix, builds up nicely and then i get lost in it the rest of the way through.
That closing track ends it nicely as well. Nice to see you post another mix man.

Awwww now don't tell me most TXTAs don't like d&b. Nobody posts a quality mix in here for a while and now ya'll wanna stay quiet. But no, when some one starts a thread about some one dressin up like a giant aardvark at a company potluck ya'll all wanna jump on the band wagon and throw your 2 cents in. Triflin heathins.

Lol man, your randomness gets better everytime. Very glad you like it man. one of these days we gotta get back on the decks!!! i think once i finish my dj console project ill have people over more to mix and such. where you at now a days ?

btw, how does the mix work ? can yall flip through the chapters when yall listen through an ipod or a similar device ?

I love when you drop that "Netsky - Your way" track. Insane ethereal track. Really good mix man. I think i've listened to it about 5-7 times now. I'm hooked.

Just started a new job. I'll be working some weekends and nights though. Most likely wouldn't be able to make it out to a show anytime soon. Would be fun. You should at least record your mix and share it on here though.

Don't go and forget now. My ears are in anticipation. I'm still listening to the mix in this thread quite a bit. Listened to it at least 9 times now. Really good stuff man. I gotta say, never have listened to a d&b mix this much. I like some d&b, but never have taken the time to dig much for any.

This is gonna be in my traveling playlist along with Stevie, Depeche Mode, and Mr. Hancock while i make my way down to the valley today. Still one of the best mixes i've heard in a while. Audibly refreshing.

Funny you say that. I was listening to Vox Mechanica the other day. I still play that set regularly. Really shines on my sound system. Thanks for the love though. You learn how to Dj yet ?

Its funny, when i listened to it years ago i loved the ending. But now i listen to it and i fkn looove the beggining and middle and middle ending. so heavy, dark, and atmospheric. Kinda like the girls carlos dates.lol

When are you gonna drop another mix on here for us man? Your mixes seem to be keeping this room alive. I don't see the old regulars on here as much anymore. Then again i don't get on much myself; and if i do i often lurk and throw my two cents in here and there if anything comes up pertaining to some classic track/set and the few bits and peices of newer stuff i appreciate.
