Wedding DJ

I was just wondering if anyone had any good wedding Dj's that they can recommend in the Toronto area, the wedding will actually be in Cambridge.

Wedding is next July 2012, also if you have any reviews, or stories to tell about "said" DJ please provide them here, or PM me.

Any links, or video's of wedding Dj's that you can recommend would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Shagz

WTF is there to be kidding about? It's not like I am asking anyone here or an EDM dj to play the wedding.

I am asking if anyone has anyone they can recommend, or knows someone that does weddings.

If you dont have anything appropriate to contribute, stay the fuck out of the thread

I know several Canadian wedding DJs, one in Iqaluit, two from Smiths Falls and one from the 'Peg - all equally experienced and proficient in their craft. Any preferences on your part?

One chicken dance, coming right up, sir!

Dude, you're asking an international community to recommend dime a dozen wedding DJs. You don't even give your location. You'd be better off checking the yellow pages.

And don't go telling me to stay out of the thread ya fuckin' n00b. You posted a thread on a public message board; that's inviting anyone who has access to the internet to voice their opinion... in this case I decided to express what a moron I believe you to be, which seems to be a wholey justifiable conclusion on my part. If you can't take mockery then I'm afraid you've come to the wrong place... this isn't the "Rainbow Unicorn PLUR Circle Jerk Society."

Is there such a thing as a good or bad wedding DJ? At every wedding I've ever been to, the formula is exactly the same. You play Abba, you play a slow one for the bride and groom to dance to, you chat incomprehensible inanities through a terrible microphone. That's it.

Posted by VDub on Jun-15-2011 13:25:

Yah dude a location would really be helpful...

I have a great one that I used for mine but unless you're in or around Toronto, I don't think he'd work out for you...

uh you're only taking care of this now? july is next month, unless your poorly phrased question meant july 2012

You'll most likely only be able to find a crappy wedding dj as all the good ones will already be taken.

Ask DJRYAN, I hear he's really good. He's a regular poster in the c0r also.

Actually, yes, there is.

I'm used to the typical Brazilian wedding party formula: Play whatever is popular at the time, then play a gay hour (Village People, Gloria Gaynor and so on), some slow music for the groom and the bride, and then play the same music you played in the beginning.

However, there was this one DJ in São Paulo who, upon realising that he always played the very same thing, decided to work on his transitions and spice up the playlist: he made a jump-up version of the Grease soundtrack that made all the drunkards go crazy. He also played trance at some point... but I can't remember the tune.

Well hook the OP up with his info; I'm sure he'll fly him up to Canada for the gig!

Sure!

DJ Ameaça Moral Lays De Smackdown
Rua Lorde Guilherme de Ashley, 1337
Baixo do Ipiranga, São Paulo - SP, São Paulo
n07k4n-4d4

He must charge around 500 U$ for the night, flying expenses not included.

It specifically states next july if you read the original post.

I am in the Toronto area, the wedding is in Cambridge though

Since we're in June most people would view next July as in a month.... just sayin'

btw, don't forget to request billy idol's white wedding, the chicken dance, and the macerana

And "I Will Survive." Nothing gets drunk, overweight, middle-aged women on a dance floor holding their shoes in their left hand and drink in their right faster then that little gem.

The funny thing is how much they get paid to do it. They clean up, weddings are a goldmine.

I'm still not sure what he means
I will simply assume next month.

He needs to realize that good wedding organizing starts a year in advance. If he finds someone available they will be utter crap.

My oldest sister is a wedding photographer and is often book more than 1 year ahead. She's told me horror stories about people not planning and coming last minute but no luck for them as with anyone worth anything in the wedding industry, they will already be booked!

I couldn't do it. I would probably play this for the first dance for lulz.

Posted by srussell0018 on Jun-15-2011 15:20:

You are looking for DJ who also play big clob?

I love that tune. Would be a great set opener at a wedding gig!
