SLUT WALK - well, what do you think?
I've made a track completely to my own taste, no loops or anything, just what came naturaly outa me and what felt good.
I'm trying to think of a vocal to go with this. Do you think a spoken or a sung vocal would work better.
NEW VERSION HERE

Sorry, link was down, ok now though.
Not really my thing. I could hook you up with that girl that posted here a couple of weeks ago saying she wanted to do vocals. I think this track suited for some spoken stuff with some sweet tape delay on there.
Definitely want a copy of this when you're done with it. I'm voting spoken but the right singer could do a nice jazzy vox part to it and I wouldn't mind that, either.
Quite different. Pretty cool beat.
I'd vote spoken. Singing probably wouldn't fit with this.
And I don't know what to call it, but there's an FX at 2:20 that is way whack and ear-offending.
best of luck, will look forward to updated versions.

Cheers Ed.
Guys I am really more excited about this that anything else I've ever done and already have big label interest, so as I approach final tweaks I wouldn't mind some input.

Here we go my friend, something really different and refreshing from you --> Techno style with Industrial influence and cool House blend/touches - nicely done so far!!!
One thing, if I can, get this bass line and emphasize a bit more, actually little bit more than more lol - I'm looking for that initial massive groove hit when you start to listen to this track, sound with depth which will overwhelm you and make you move to this rhythm - really great so far man, really cool concept at this point, get it done and please let me know !!!
Cheers,
Darek
This sounds great really like the dark techno sound with some nice prog synths lines. The FX sound good nice and trippy. When it builds up just before the break, I think it would sound good to just kick back into the beat, nice and driving. The break could come later on, maybe?
Bass sounds great also.
Spoken word would go well with this dark track. Good luck with it dude.
Darek and M2D2. ha you read my mind - before I read your comments this morning, I'd already made the bass a lot louder and was planning how to bring in some vox and extend the beat into the break.
I've made kick (needs some forensic eq still)n stuff more driving now too.
Planning some driving snare type rising rolls to really drive the end of the intro.
Cheers for the advice fellas.
this was cool...definitely crying out for some form of a vocal [sample] as others have mentioned
Super trippy stuff, nice and grooving buddy. Cool sounds for sure. Last 3 chords at the end are kind of strange though. Like right at the end of the preview. I like it though. Maybe a small melodic line on top somewhere to give it another hook quality, but it's good man nice work.
edit: not sure i listened to the latest version so this time I did.
some other notes. nice kick for sure. could have some bassline relationship enhancement. the vocals are SO trippy lol. percs are nice and tight. I think the only thing that needs to be brought out a little more is the bassline itself. Breakdown with those chords could use a little more energy control I think, starting small and going big, but yeah just an idea.

I've made it totaly nutty trippy now - my fave work so far that I've done.
Slut Walk - WIP -big update - let me have that vox Karl. by Dirtbox Divas
This absolutely kills in all of the good ways. Could use a little tidying up or not. Damn, man. It's just good and I'm impressed. Definitely in El Teritoridad del Trippo.
Thanks Ed - someone I respect a lot heard it and said it made them cry - damn I hope they didn't mean because it's awful!
Lots of tidying and sorting to do on it now.
cool tune dude
pros: interesting sounds, kept movement through out song
cons: arrangement

Yep great potential, but sort out the mix everything now bounces all over the place, which helps to the confusion trippy side but is not so trippy on a full range pa system. sort out the low end, make it tight and do te trippy things somewhere above 2K or so.
but yeah if you can tighten it up, think Carl Cox would like this.

| Originally posted by Beatflux I feel like you try to cram too much stuff into your song in some places. You have two lead ideas going at once, one panned right and one panned left, and it would probably work better with just one idea going at a time. If you made the arrangement more predictable, I think it would sound better. |
very nice dont change it,, love the french vocals
