Shit State Of Trance, Is it just me or...

Is it just me or are we seriously lacking a good dose of uplifting/euro/melodic trance at the moment, and I don't me that hardcode shit with a hard bass / percussion, big bass and weak melody

Over the last year Prog trance/house ruled, now we seem to be in a state of transition, nothing is standing up, waving the flag and shouting "quality trance music has arrived".

OK, someone releases Armin - Yet Another Day or A&B - Far From In Love... but what then

I know it's bad when I start pulling my archive CD's to listen to something different.

Anybody else feel the same way?

Oh and don't post anything about happy hardcore or the like 'cos you can just fuck right off!

Stella where have you been?! 2002 has been an awsome year for trance. Here's some suggestions for starters...

Denzel D-Bluster of the storm
Perpetuous dreamer-the sound of goodbye
Matanka-Lost in a dream
Drax & Scott mac-Angel (magik music remix)

I have plenty more but it's mostly hard-nrg trance as I've been into that a lot this year, quality stuff tho no shit. PM me if you want suggestions...

OK, first of all, The sound of goodbye isn't 2002 it's 2001...

Secondly, this year has been great trance year: MIKE, Armin, Ferry and lots of other producers have released a lot of GOOD stuff !!!

A way better year than 2001 IMO....

This song is a masterpiece with plenty of quality remixes,
especially Hiver & Hammer's Different Gear Mix.

stella, i see your point. most of the big-name euro trance producers have been less than impressive recently. sort of a let-down really...

but there's been some good stuff coming out of jolly old england lately. solar stone's "solarcoaster", redanka's "out of the dark", and underworld's "two months off" come to mind. not traditional formulaic euro-trance, but we've all tired of that anyway, right?

and there's even some good stuff coming from (of all places) here in the usa. 29 psalms' "touch the sky" is a great track and perhaps an omen of things to come. bt has also been working on some pretty intersting trancy breaks stuff lately. heard a bit of it when he was spinning last weekend here.

Are you bloody serious, 4 strings - Diving is the shittest song....especaially the hiver and hammer mix..

Hiver and hammer have only ever done one good remix and that was Matt Darey - Beautiful

The mix of Riva - Time is the healer was shit, T Factory - Message in a bottle was crap, i prefer the proper version under the name Bassmen - Sending out a SOS.

i think diving is a pretty good song, i wouldnt say the best of the year or whatever.
lots of good shit has come out tho.
plus, check out sasha's new CD airdrawndagger. practicly everything on that is awsome. especially the last four songs.

Well as far as Im aware it was released in 2002, everytime I give some suggestions there's always some smartarse who has to point out little mistakes cuz It was released a week before or something.
