New trance track!

Hey all,

This is my newest trance track, which will be featured on a new trance CD containing trance tunes I made myself this summer, during the time I was offline for about a month. All tracks have been mastered these last weeks in august.

The new tune is called lightworks - forgiven [original mix]

Please let me know what you think of it, this will be the only track of the new album available at mp3.com

Its very good, very well mastered and good synths & strings.. but the melody isnt much... it uses ur average trance chords IMO...

But the lead is great ! (Altho, slightly high pitched in places) And the break down, beautiful I really like that piano.. alot !

Overal, a good track.. nothing too specail but amazingly mastered and a very nice breakdown !

The buildup is quite standard... but I think it works well I think, just meant to create a summer-ish vibe

i really love the strings.. it just sounds so perfect
i agree with D_G here about the melody, and i also think i`ve heard this melody before
oh yeah.. some things in the rythm.. they sound 2 fruityloopy, but they`re only some samples of which the volume is very low and u can`t notice them that good...

good track and keep on goin!

hmm, i'm not sure if i heard this melo before... it's just a popular rhythm maybe? on which synth does that fruityloopy effect take place? i didn't use any 3xOSC though for the synths

Im disappointed alot wim, im sorry.

Its really one boring track, this is just me, as fan and my personal oppinion.

But id like that the music evolved a little overtime
this way too old lightworks sound. And the melody is downright boring.
I feel like, Forever was a great hit, and this feels like one of those rushed follow ups that every artist does once hes had a commerciel hit.

Try and evolve your sound, and work more on the feeling.
It falls into "just another lightworks track category", you need to change your method's of making tracks, every thrice or fourth track a little. So you evolve.

And with as Dan said, a melody that just doesnt say anything, this isnt rated high in my book.

You said it yourself honesty is better in the long run

Forever was awesome, now go make a track like that, but change things, break some rulez

And gives us another reason why the lightworks stands for top quality trance

well, mac if you heard some ten in a row of my tracks, you'd probably feel this boring... but let's not be too subjective please

i mean, if you listened to some five remixes from ferry corsten or cj stone, you would have had it too i believe... evolving doesn't happen from one day to the other

right now i'm focusing on trance quality more than originality... trying to improve sounds and so on... getting to know every tweak there is.

well, sorry to disappoint you

I know its hard trying to get to know every single thing in producing.
So its hard to keep up with everything

But i thought of this as tune amongst your other tracks.
I should have complemented the mastering, i was a little fast......

It is alot more clear than your earlier tracks, really ALOT.
Im just trying to help ya know, maybe its time to focus a little bit on your sound rather than mastering?

Also remember its only my oppinion, im not here to slaughter ya....

Thing is I just make what I like... or what I like to hear. I'm getting my own sort of sound now probably and my own style... sometimes things work out, sometimes they don't.
Well, I still got that broody trance tune for ya coming up soon on my album, maybe you'd want to check that for a little change
Also fixing up a hard trance tune with Infinite Streams again...

Guess this is the Lightworks sound, I don't know? Well, according to me you can tear it apart as much as you'd want to, that's up to you and your own opinion

Now I'm off to some Wolfenstein hehe, see you later

Just a follow up, my first comment was a bit premature, I only listened to the track in a rushed manner so my opinion was somewhat skewed. The track is pretty decent actually, the mastering is good, although I still think that the melody could be a little more interesting, I would perhaps have the piano be the main melody, similar to karuma - on ya va or dj taucher - pictures of a gallery, or the latest fire and ice productions.

I would give it a 7.5/10

PS. The bassline is kinda dry

alot of people have told me in the past not to have reverb on the bassline, so that's why i don't use it anymore... and it's a bit dry as you said so.
would the track still be interesting if i just replaced the main lead with the piano? dunno if this track would fit that way...
