Mystic Mind - Event Horizon [progressive]
Hey everyone here is my latest progressive mix for you to enjoy. Mixing is still something that I'm working on and I feel that I'm improving it in every mix and I know this is something that will take time and practice.
In this mix I'm demonstrating my take of the progressive world and hope that you will enjoy the track selection for this mix. As always I welcome and opinions and advice/suggestions.

I like, I like.

definitely better flow n track selection n mixing. but --- the one major issue with the set is that you tended to wait waaay too long to transition. "the bassline drop" is also one of your main techniques for establishing the coming track. try that j00f technique where he mixes in the next track at a low, yet noticeable, volume, keeping the bassline coming in as a kind of harmonic presence rather than totally cut out. we don't want to forget the previous track when the new one comes in: the previous one should be a bridge, a bit of filler, for the next one, and this principle is true even for the really epic, banging, uplifting tracks as well as the less noticeable ones. anyone who tries to spin a set without a sense of history (i mean, keeping the previous however many tracks in mind) is gonna spin a boring-ass set jammed with great melodies. you get tired, ya know what i mean?
this advice is kind of hard to follow through with, though. it requires a change in the way you pick tracks; rather than strictly focusing on the general vibe to establish flow, you might pay attention to particular elements in adjacent tracks that set each other off -- whether complementary or contrasting. remember that old j00f set SPANIARD keeps mentioning where j00f alternated between a darker bassline and a more uplifting one throughout the set? yea, like that.
still man, a definite progression is noted despite all my bitching. by the time i got to Incolumis i really felt i was moved somewhere (even if the 30min prior to that point were a bit up and down).
