Drunk Toronto Producers Blowing Up Right Now

of course we have...

Deadmau5
Art Dept
Carlo Lio

(I love how all 3 are dominating each respective sound)

but the 2nd wave (if I dare call it that) is also making an impact...

Adam K
D-Unity
Flipside
James Teej
the Junkies
Daniel Dubb

I mean really, I could easily add another 10 names to this list. So much talent in this city.

thoughts?

---------------------------------------------

Addy
Kotov & Wilde
Nathan Barato
Andrew McDonnell
Nitin
Joee Cons
Matteo DiMarr
Mikel Curcio
Jerome Robbins
Subfractal

this is all off the top of my head, I know I could compile a huge list, but you get the point lol

edit:

The Noodleman
The Weeknd
My Favorite Robot
Arthur Oskan
Noah Pred

Add Ephixa (dubstep) to the list. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but he's getting tons of exposure:

and of course:

For the love this city has of tech house I'm really surprised we don't have more big producers out there in the genre other than Lio.

How dare you discuss Toronto produced music on a Toronto music forum. That's grounds for a temp ban for sure.

Posted by Summerlover on Jul-13-2011 16:38:

Arnej is from Toronto, guess you never heard of him.

You probly already have it, but if you don't make to snag this it's a beauty...

All three have been doing well for the last few years. "Blowing up" in your eyes seems to be consistency and gauged by BP charts. I agree/disagree in that they are finally getting the right exposure.

The talent is here, just under exposed.

Friendships, hard work, time, and exposure pay off for all you aspiring producers/djs.

Arnej is indeed doing very well for himself representing Toronto.

I think Maciek Sztel (MSz) is extremely underrated. He's got an amazing progressive sound and his tracks are really brillant.

Andrew McDonnell is also doing great on the progressive side.

Most others already got mentioned.

andrew mcdonnell who is doing big things with VIVA now! < - awesome.

Aerodromme
subfractal

love it, blowing up or not.

Jon...

You have to dumb it down a little more for the frogs...

They don't understand the English very well...

Also, most of the artist's that you named have been big for quite some time so I don't know why you're saying that they're just blowing up now...

Posted by jon jon on Jul-13-2011 23:26:

I just meant Toronto in general, lots of talented people

Posted by Adamo on Jul-13-2011 23:33:

Philip Arruda - great deep house and some doooope tech house bangers with releases on Roots & Wings, Microzoo and forthcoming tracks on Rawthentic

Sia Gee aka Cee Cee Cox - unbelieveable deeep and minimal infused with soulful ambience, love getting lost in his musical world
