Eddie Halliwells First Track - What a joke

Biggest rip off I have ever heard.

Listen to Funkagenda - Splinter and then this...

Probably made this tune via skype with a house producer pal.

Halliwell is the biggest clown in the world.

He's a MAD turntablist!

But is he relevant in EDM anymore?

..This track tells me NO

Posted by Acton on Jul-15-2011 20:16:

I think he's also got two more coming out....

Posted by kylew54 on Jul-16-2011 15:47:

o dear, what a blatent rip off

Posted by mmix on Jul-16-2011 23:33:

Wait.. there's more.

Aether rips off another song pretty badly as well. It's a pretty well known song but I can't think of the name.

Posted by Syntonic on Jul-17-2011 00:15:

Wow, that's probably the laziest rip off I've ever heard.

I saw Eddie play that track at EDC Las Vegas, at the time I thought it was a remix (even posted in the song ID forum) but turns out to be a rip off.

A real pain in your skanky red haired ass?

WOW unbelievable!!!

Posted by jdub889 on Jul-17-2011 23:32:

it's kind of ridiculous. he's not even ripping underground tracks, these are big name producers... and even if the copying was unintentional/unconscious/whatever people call it, i find it hard to imagine that someone on his team didn't go "uh, eddie, this sounds a lot like [X track]" before the songs got out...

He's just sampling that is all. Everybody does it today.

I feel like i'm always complaining on this forum but again....not very good work Eddie. Really like the guy as a person but that can only get you so far as a DJ, esp when your making toss like this...or is he? who actually made this? As from what i can remember he can't produce?

Posted by BeatsAndBeyond on Jul-21-2011 14:48:

They

I wonder how much money he paid someone to "make" these tracks for him.

They're not even in his style either. He usually plays faster techier tracks, unless he has changed his style since I saw him last...

Posted by jonthedentist on Jul-21-2011 15:52:

what do you expect from a dj from the Gatecrasher/Cream/MOS/ school of commercial shite! yet when i say it all anyone ever does (in a girly whiney voice) is say 'ooo you're bitter, bla bla bla' no , i say it because that's what those clubs are and only someone who plays them and relies on the fees would say otherwise! hedgemony- pure hedgemony! Eddie Haliwell is a Mixmag baby - what do you expect? lol

Posted by bas on Jul-21-2011 15:59:

Fun fact:

Big djs and producers tend to get the same sample packs sent to them for free to use so everyday chumps say "zomg iw anna be like hiiimmm"<-- just like that...spelling errors and all.

Posted by Mattsanity. on Jul-21-2011 18:00:

eddie halliwell can

Posted by Trance-M on Jul-21-2011 18:50:

Actually, without a lot of thinking, comparing or expectations, I like the track, maybe just because it sounds like it already was made in the 90's. I bet that breakdown will do good in clubs for sure. Perfect track for dancing.

Edit: Best of the 3 IMO.

Is it a coincidence that P.v.D. also plays/produces tracks which could have been made pre 2000? (and probably also is a joke to many people)
Also if someone could ID the one below it would be nice:
