I appreciate the direction here so i gave it a good listen.
I'm left satisfied if anything, plenty of blissy moments and general intrigue. Last twenty minutes didn't quite do it for me. Quaint, however it started to feel less like an electronica mix and more like an 80's radio station, but i suppose i just wasn't really in for that.
Good stuff though and thanks for sharing and what not.

Ha! Wasn't even expecting one response for this set. I've done a series called the Windmill Sessions on here for ages which gets a lot of interest but occasionally drop a random set or two in here which displays some of my other tastes. Almost to a tee they go by unnoticed, so I'm glad someone actually listened to one.

The concept around the mix was to include a number of folky/dream pop songs that I have been turned on to recently (Wild Nothing - Live In Dreams, Beach Fossils - What a Pleasure etc) in the context of a mix as a whole. Initially I wanted to include music solely of this genre (or thereabouts) and mixed altogether. That was never going to work without it being a bit jarring in between tunes so I started to use some ambient and electronica to meld the seams. Hopefully something interesting has come of it.

Thanks again for the feedback and listen. Followed the link on your sig to your mix, looks incredibly experimental and will definitely be something new to my ears. Downloading and will listen over the next few days.

I'm also finding dreamy pop an intriguing sound lately, but recognize it doesn't lend itself well to mixing. What i was hoping for is just that, mixing them in with related but more traditional electronic genres to make it more of a flowing narrative is what i was expecting and also hoping to create myself sometime in the future. You did well in doing so for the most part so i'm glad i gave this one a listen.
As for why it doesn't attract much attention i'm not quite sure, but if a mix offers something different from the usual and i happen to spot it in the endless list of topics here i'm always sure to give it a try.

Also thanks for tackling my mix, it's a roller coaster ride between dizzying abstractness and more organic melodic bliss. I hope you find what you're looking for.

They are special. Everything they produce is just beautiful and has that drowned, slow-motion vibe which I adore.

It is certainly difficult to incorporate in that organic way you describe, especially after getting so used to being fixated on 4/4 perfect beat-matching all my dj'ing life. It requires a slightly different approach which I'm still learning and hoping to improve with each mix. The two styles certainly have the potential to meld beautifully.

I'll listen to your mix over the weekend and next week I think, on the headphones for the work commute. Should be a good way of taking it in both subconsciously and when I am more actively listening (depending on how busy it is!).

PS. Organic bliss? Yes please.

There will definitely be a sequel soon. I've been turned on to so many tracks of a similar vibe and are finding more and more each day, it's just a case of picking the best of the best.
